Geology department of University of Latvia would like to invite you to the second International Students Geological Conference, which will be held near Sigulda (Latvia) in April 28 till May 1, 2011. The aim of this conference is to continue the traditions of the first International Students Geological Conference held in Krakow (Poland) in April 2010 and to bring together geology students from various countries, to discuss the results of their scientific work. The conference will include scientific sessions and field trips to the most exciting geological objects in Latvia. The oral presentations are planned in four parallel sessions and will be accompanied by poster presentations. The official language of the conference will be English.   Participants: Students and PhD students of geology and related studies are entitled to take part in the conference. We also sincerely invite research workers and other people interested in the topic.   Presentations The official language of the conference will be English. The length of oral presentation is restricted to a total of maximum of 20 minutes (15 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for discussion). Projectors and computers will be available for presentations in each room. Posters should be prepared in standard A0 or A1 size. Materials for fixing posters will be available in poster area.   Conference volume The conference abstracts will be published in University of Latvia. The contributions will be peer-reviewed by the Scientific Committee and the conveners. The length of abstracts is limited to one A4 page, single-spaced, 12 pt Times New Roman font, with 2.5 cm margins. Illustrations - only grayscale illustrations can be accepted.
