The University of Latvia has extended the license to use the professional online survey tool QuestionPro until November 2022. The license states that the tool can be used by students as well as academic and administrative staff. Each QuestionPro user - student, employee, or department - gets a personalized profile to conduct surveys. Terms of use for QuestionPro: To become a user of QuestionPro, a person must currently study or work at the University of Latvia; To register the e-mail assigned by the University of Latvia must be used; When gaining access to the survey tool, it may only be used for study and work. Use of the survey tool for commercial purposes is not permitted. The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) plans to set up one-stop-shops for its services across Europe’s less innovative regions, most of which lie in eastern and central Europe. These regions are part of the Regional Innovation Scheme (RIS), where in recent years EIT has been working to strengthen local innovation capacities. Now, it wants to maximise its presence by giving innovators easier access to training, funding, guidance on launching start-up and other services. Two pilots will be launched in Latvia and North Macedonia. In Latvia, for example, there are six or seven hubs, ranging from health to food focused ones, and its innovators may be confused about where to go to get help. In North Macedonia there are no hubs, though there is a national contact point that people can go to for support. Under the plan, hubs representing all eight communities will be established in the two countries by the end of the year, in a bid to ensure EIT is better positioned

Oto Poloučeks ir ieguvis doktora grādu etnoloģijā, kā arī studējis neseno vēsturi. Viņš docē etnoloģijas kursu Masaryk Universitātē, Čehijā ( Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic ), pievēršoties mutvārdu vēstures metodēm, atmiņu pētniecībai un lauku reģionu ilgtspējībai. Viņš ir piedalījies pētījumā par pamatskolu transformācijām Čehijā post-sociālisma periodā. Lekcijas apraksts angļu valodā: The lecture will introduce the basics of the oral history method, based on recording in-depth interviews and life stories.
