Latvijas Universitāte ir uzsākusi informatīvu kampaņu “Studijas bez pārtraukuma”, kurā augstskolas mācībspēki un jau esošie studenti aicina vakcinēties, atgādinot, ka tikai vakcinēšanās ir solis tuvāk studijām klātienē. “Studijas bez pārtraukuma” – tas ir viens no iemesliem vakcinēties, norāda kampaņas dalībnieki. Vakcinētām personām nav jāievēro pašizolācija, tātad, ja studiju laikā saslims kāds students vai mācībspēks, vakcinētajiem kursabiedriem un kolēģiem nebūs jāpavada laiks pašizolācijā. Studentiem nebūs jākavē lekcijas, bet mācībspēkiem neradīsies problēmas ar studiju procesa nepārtrauktības nodrošināšanu. Par studijām klātienē un vakcināciju ir arī LU Humanitāro zinātņu fakultātes dekāne prof. Indra Karapetjana un fakultātes esošie studenti, kurus kampaņā “Studijas bez pārtraukuma” pārstāv 2. kursa studente Patrīcija Miķele. Vakcinējies – mēs gribam satikties rudenī studijās klātienē!

The President of Akita International University Dr. Mineo Nakajima visits the University of Latvia on October, 16-18. In 2011 the UL and AIU made a Bilateral Cooperation Agreement providing regular exchange of students and lecturers. Last year two AIU students spent a year at the UL, and this year there is one exchange student from AIU. A similar number of UL students also enrol in AIU, Japan. The aim of the AIU President’s visit is to confirm the interest for further cooperation and discuss its future opportunities. During the visit Dr. Mineo Nakajima will meet Gundars Berzins, UL Chancellor and Rector Deputy, Janis Stonis, UL Administrative Director, representatives of the UL Department of Foreign Affairs, as well as he will visit the UL Faculty of Humanities.

You can apply for different short-term mobility programmes which give you a chance to take part in a week-long activity (up to 5 days) as part of a group of international students who will meet physically on site in one of our 9universities . While some of the collective mobility programmes target students from specific scientific fields others are open to students of different level and areas of study. Every programme will have approximately 30 students (including up to 24 participants from 8 partner universities) and will be conducted in English, unless otherwise stated. All students enrolled in one of our 9universities are eligible to apply. The application form for the next period from March 2023 to September 2023 is now closed. The expert Group "Diversity and Inclusion" organised a workshop towards FORTHEM Alliance students on micro aggressions. This last month, we have had the pleasure to organize two Diversity and Inclusion workshops dedicated to microaggressions and discriminations in the university context. Students from our different partner universities all gathered and shared their opinions and approaches on discriminations they have either experienced or witnessed. Exercises and discussions were carried out in order to exchange perspectives about what identity is, what it feels to belong or to not belong to a group, and what stereotypes and microassaults mean. We would like to thank the students for participating and our FORTHEM colleagues for setting up such a nice project.

Lai veicinātu pedagoģijas inovāciju idejas skolās, Latvijas Universitātes (LU) Inovāciju centrs LUMIC studentiem piedāvā unikālu iespēju iegūt skolotāja pieredzi eksaktajos mācību priekšmetos.
