found a snail-head pin, which is very interesting, because I haven’t heard of any other such pins to be found in Latvia. Another nice finding is an amber button fragment. The number of objects found is quite moderate, but all the structural remnants, fortification walls and other findings indicate that it is a hillfort, which was inhabited in the late Bronze Age– from1100 to about 500BC. It is also possible that it was inhabited even later, during the period called the earliest Iron Age– from 500BC up to the turn of ages, however, no supporting evidence was found in this regard. Prehistory is the earliest period of history and archaeological discoveries are essential reference objects for researchers – the results of their study help schoolchildren get an insight into the relevant time period. In this way children can learn what is family, people and Motherland, how our ancestors lived starting with the first settlers that came to our land many thousands of years ago, as well

With a focus on knowledge-based and human-centered entrepreneurship, we will wonder how to use academic skills profitably in the development of innovation and new entreprises. Is it a central theme for positioning universities within their territories? Is this process endorsed by the academic governance? How can we recover the gap which affects the social science and humanities disciplinary fields to get on board of academic entrepreneurship? Contents If we look at recent successful innovations and compare them with those which have driven change in the past, it is clear that their rate of market uptake is faster than before. This implies a tighter connection between the acquisition of new knowledge and the ability to transform it into new products/services that enter the market. In the workshop, our keynote speakers will analyse the innovation chain, the actors of this process and how they move along the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) scale. They will also go in
Get connected! A Call for tandems and working groups
20.10.2021. 13.21 Ziņa
Working together in an international and European environment can be very productive and stimulating if there is awareness of the institutional and cultural differences and how to bridge them. And what better way is there to promote understanding of how things work in other organisations and countries than mutual exchange with your international colleagues? By forming trans-sectoral and trans-institutional tandems and working groups of experts in the same or complementary fields, for example, in research and innovation management, we can build a strong and resilient network to face upcoming challenges in future. The FIT FORTHEM team offers a support service to assist the formation of transnational tandems and working groups. If you are looking for a tandem-partner or if you want to offer a job shadowing opportunity, please contact us by writing to fitforthem@uni-mainz.de Silvana Di Bono (UNIPA ) describes her tandem with Nicole Birkle (JGU), which culminated in a recent
