Three students of the European Studies Master Programs awarded from the Economic Development Forum of Latvia

Nena Markovic, Raimonds Kokarevics and Javier Mendoza, students of the second year of the European Studies Master Program were awarded with a Certificate of honor for significant contribution to developing of scientific research paper „Living in Latvia” for the Latvian Economic Development Forum research paper competition that was issued by the Council of Higher Education of the Republic of Latvia on the ceremony hold the past 9th of November. The research paper explores the satisfaction and motivation of the international students that come to Latvia in order to make an exchange. In addition, it makes a comparison with the answers of the local students to extract conclusions and address recommendation to the higher education institutions. The paper was supervised by the Prof.Dr.Mihails Hazans of the University of Latvia that was also present on the act. In the same ceremony were also awarded different research papers on the economical field being the first prize up to 1.000 Lats

Fall University at JGU open to FORTHEM students

Students of all FORTHEM Alliance Universities can register for this year's Fall University of JGU’s Career Service until September 15, 12.00 CET. Fall University offers a variety of digital courses and practical workshops, designed to enhance skills which are valuable in work and everyday life. UL Faculty of Economics and Management Students Enter the MIT Global Startup Workshop Finals

On March 25-27, a Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Global Startup Workshop (GSW) took place in Tallinn, Estonia. Among other things, the seminar hosted a business pitch contest attended by Jānis Zaltāns, Andris Ziemelis and Kristaps Zaļais, students of the Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM) of the University of Latvia (UL). Jānis, Andris and Kristaps, 3rd-year students of the BA study programme International Economy and Commercial Diplomacy, were able to attend the MITGSW owing to the business pitch contest organised within the framework of the Eurofaculty Pskov project. Results of the KAforHR R&D tasks - collaboration between students and Latvian SMEs on the Workplace Innovations

At the end of 2021, Latvian students in collaboration with local SMEs have performed the R&D tasks in order to tackle challenges related to the HR and Workplace Innovations. In the result of the KAforHR project, a strong knowledge alliance providing SME-specific methods and instruments for workplace innovations, as well as an increased cooperation between universities, chambers and companieshave been created. One of the project’s activities was organisationof the R&D tasksconnecting students and local SMEs with the aim to collaborate and search for solutions for the real business challenges of the involved companies During this collaboration,enterprises, firstly, defined their challenge or question, and then students, based on the analysis of theory and practical situation, were searching for the potential tools to solve the defined question.
