Šo sestdien, 2022. gada 26. novembrī plkst. 10.30, 510. auditorijā LU VFF Aspazijas bulvārī 5 notiks Jauno Vēsturnieku skolas nodarbība par heraldiku. Vēstures un filozofijas fakultātes doktorants Edgars Sims iepazīstinās skolēnus ar ģerboņu izcelšanās vēsturi, tajos iekļauto simbolu nozīmi un pamācīs klātesošajiem veidot pašiem savu dzimtas ģerboni. Pēc nodarbības, plkst. 12.00, vēstures bakalaura programmas trešā kursa students Mārcis Kārlis Balodis pastāstīs par savu pieredzi ar studiju procesā nepieciešamā zinātniskā noslēguma darba rakstīšanu. Lai veicinātu Lietuvas, Latvijas un Igaunijas valstu valodu un kultūras studijas, jau trešo gadu tiek piešķirta Baltijas valstu universitāšu stipendija studentiem, kas prot visas trīs valodas. Galvenais priekšnoteikums stipendijas iegūšanai ir Baltijas valstu valodu zināšanas – zināt vienu no trim oficiālajām valstu valodām C1 līmenī, bet abas pārējās – vismaz A2 līmenī. Stipendiju students var izmantot studijām citā universitātē vai arī realizējot kādu citu ar studijām saistītu mērķi. Pieteikties stipendijai var visu studiju līmeņu studenti, piedaloties atklātā konkursā. Pirmajā kārtā konkursa dalībniekam vajadzēs iepazīstināt ar sevi un uzrakstīt īsu eseju par kādu noteiktu tematu trīs Baltijas valstu valodās. Savukārt pēdējā kārtā tiksies trīs labākie kandidāti no katras universitātes, lai prezentētu sevi un savu piemērotību stipendijas iegūšanai. Tad arī tiks izvēlēts viens stipendijas saņēmējs. Jau rīt (20.maijs) SELL Studentu spēlēs sacensības sāksies desmit no 14 sporta veidiem. SELL Studentu spēlēs kopumā piedalīsies nedaudz vairāk nekā 1200 dalībnieku, no kuriem ap 550 ir no ārvalstīm. Kā pirmā Latvijā ieradusies Žilinas universitātes delegācija (Slovākija), bet arī citu valstu pārstāvji jau ir ceļā uz SELL Studentu spēlēm. Piektdien SELL Studentu spēlēs kopumā paredzētas sacensības deviņos sporta veidos- volejbols,basketbols, šahs, spēka trīscīņa, florbols, futbols (7x7), vieglatlētika, peldēšana un badmintons. Savukārt džudo paredzēta svēršanās. "Rimi" Olimpiskajā centrā 20.maijā sacensības notiks piecos sporta veidos. Plkst.10:00 pirmās spēles paredzētas basketbolistiem, volejbolistiem un spēka trīscīņas sportistiem, bet stundu vēlāk sporta zāles pierībinās arī florbolisti un futbolisti. 2021./2022. akadēmiskā gada pavasara semestrī Latvijas Universitāte (LU) ir uzņēmusi FORTHEM Campus Riga studentus, kuri studē LU Juridiskajā fakultātē un LU Biznesa, vadības un ekonomikas fakultātē. LU kā par savu studiju galamērķi ir izvēlējušies četri studenti no trīs Forthem partneruniversitātēm Spānijā (Valensijas Universitāte), Itālijā (Palermo Universitāte) un Francijā (Burgundijas Universitāte). Atsākoties klātienes mācībām un ārpusmācību aktivitātēm, Studiju servisa departamenta (SSD) Mobilitātes nodaļa 26. aprīlī organizēja pastaigu ekskursiju pa Vecrīgu. Ekskursijā piedalījās ne tikai FORTHEM partneruniversitāšu studenti, bet arī LU studenti, kuri savu studiju laikā izmantoja iespēju piedalīties īstermiņa mobilitātē kādā Forthem partneruniversitātē. Studentei Kandelai no Spānijas šī bija pirmā reize ceļojot un dzīvojot vienai bez ģimenes un tuvākajiem draugiem. Bija jāpārvar bailes, bet Kandela ir ļoti sev pateicīga, ka piekrita doties šajā apmaiņā, jo esot kļuvusi daudz

programmās, kuru laikā uzņemam studentus no ārzemēm un dodam iespēju Latvijas studentiem doties uz citām valstīm. The digital collection of media literacy lesson plans and tasks "Be Media Literate!" has been developed within the IREX Baltic Media Literacy Programme at the University of Latvia. Its authors are lecturers and graduate-level students of the Faculty of Social Sciences, consultant – Zanda Rubene, professor at the Faculty of Education, Psychology and Art of the University of Latvia, editor – Klinta Ločmele, the lead of the IREX Baltic Media Literacy Programme at the University of Latvia. The book contains 16 original plans for lessons and tasks in media literacy for students in grades 7–9 and 10–12, but the content can be adapted as needed. I have to admit that both the students and the teachers had a hard time adapting to online classes. Repetition for the purpose of strengthening previously acquired knowledge is essential to our program. That’s why, perhaps, the ability to record some of the lectures was a considerable benefit provided to us by the online class format. It is possible that this practice could carry over into the future – at least to some extent. What do you think of the epidemiology students – were they sufficiently interested and engaged? My impression of them is a very positive one; we are lucky to have all our students show a high level of interest, but the most important thing, in our opinion, is the motivation to study hard. On the 15th-17th of October, 2020, the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Latvia will host the international conference of young scholars HUMANITIES: CROSSING TIME, CULTURES AND BORDERS. Students of BA, MA and PhD programmes from the Faculty of Humanities, as well as from various Spanish, Italian, Estonian, Czech and Russian universities will participate in the conference.
