Pasaules kausa izcīņā sporta vingrošanā, kas no 21. līdz 23. februārim notika Vācijā, Kotbusā, piedalījās 28 valstu sportisti, to skaitā Latvijas Universitātes students un duālās karjeras sportists Ričards Plāte. Ričards pirmo reizi iekļuva finālā, izpildot savu programmu uz līdztekām, kas bija ļoti tuvu ideālam, un, saņemot augstas atzīmes kvalifikācijā, ierindojās 6. vietā! Finālā, kur sacentās astoņi labākie vingrotāji, Ričardam izdevās izcīnīt 7. vietu, kas ir milzīgs panākums pasaules mērogā!

University of Latvia offers introductory and advanced courses in quantum algorithms and software on both undergraduate and graduate level. Within the Latvian Quantum Technologies Initiative, a set of four study modules is developed, with two modules on quantum software at the Faculty of Computing, University of Latvia, a module on quantum devices at the Department of Physics, University of Latvia, and a module on quantum communication at the Riga Technical University. The first of these modules will be offered in the 2023/2024 academic year. Workshopson quantum programming for high school students and general public are offered through the QWorld initiative, for audiences in Latvia and abroad.

After graduation, you can continue your academic growth in doctoral studies or immediately enter the labour market. LU Fonda mecenāti un draugi 7.novembrī LU Lielajā aulā sveic jaunos – 2019./2020. akadēmiskā gada stipendiātus. 93 studenti no Latvijas Universitātes un citām Latvijas augstskolām šogad saņem 34 LU Fonda stipendijas. Pieci Pedagoģijas, psiholoģijas un mākslas fakultātes studenti šogad kļuvuši par LU Fonda stipendiju ieguvējiem. LU Fonds jau kopš 2004. gada piešķir LU dižmecenāta Kristapa Morberga stipendiju. Šogad to saņem arī Pedagoģijas, psiholoģijas un mākslas fakultātes BSP “Psiholoģija” 2. kursa students Raivo Vilcāns . In 1806, Ferdinand III of Bourbon, King of Naples and the Two Sicilies, transformed Palermo Academy of Studies into a University, granting it the power to confer degrees in Theology, Medicine, Law, and Arts. From its foundation up until today, the University of Palermo has become increasingly relevant in the field of higher education, research and innovation. Since the 1990s, it has focused on the improvement of its international outlook by taking part in European Funding Programmes of student and staff mobility, like Erasmus+, as well as in the field of scientific research, such as Horizon 2020. Today the greatest challenge for UniPa is to create a European campus, suitable for physical and virtual mobility. In this context, UniPa participates in the FORTHEM Alliance with the aim of boosting its attractiveness, strengthening research innovation and encouraging students and staff mobility.

To join Erasmus Days 2021 , the FORTHEM Alliance proposes to students and staff the created FORTHEM QUIZ “Experiencing Europe”. It consists of two parts: the first one - questions with possible one answer out of the several proposed, the second one – open questions where you are asked to give a more detailed answer! The most interesting answers to the open questions will be published within the FORTHEM Alliance web page and social media. You can find the Quiz here !

University Incubator program promotes the development of science-intensive business ideas of students and creation of new high value-added companies. Student teams get support in the development of initial testing of a scientifically intensive business idea preparing it for the next phase of development of the idea – attraction of private or public investment. The application for the University Incubator has been extended until March 6, 2021. If you have a scientifically intensive idea, project or research that you want to commercialize; If you or one of your teammates is studying STEM (science, technology, economics, math). Studenti, kuri turpinās dalību LU studentu Biznesa inkubatora realizētās “Brīvās pieteikšanās pirmsinkubatora programmas” 16 nedēļu fazē, ir iespēja pretendēt uz stipendiju un saņemt to 3 mēnešu garumā. Stipendijai tiek aicināti pieteikties tie studenti, kuri piedalās LU studentu Biznesa inkubatora “Brīvās pieteikšanās pirmsinkubatora programmā” un kuriem vidējā svērtā atzīme iepriekšējā akadēmiskajā semestrī nav zemāka par 7 ballēm un pieteikšanās brīdī pretendentam nav akadēmiskie parādi. Stipendijai var pieteikties jebkuras Latvijas augstskolas students. Tie pretendenti, kuri pēc programmas 8 nedēļu fāzes turpinās darbu 16 nedēļu fāzē un atbildīs visiem nolikumā minētajiem kritērijiem, būs iespēja saņemt stipendiju. Stipendijas apmērs bakalaura un maģistra līmeņa studentiem ir 200 EUR mēnesī, bet doktorantūras studentiem - 228 EUR. Lai pieteiktos, pretendentam ir jāaizpilda pieteikums un līdz 31. marta plkst. 15.00 tas jānosūta uz biznesainkubators@lu.lv. Visus pieteikumus
