Sestdien, 13. oktobrī, Klaipēdā norisinājās starptautiskās regates “Danes regate” sacensības 3 km distancē, kurās piedalījās arī Latvijas Universitātes 3. kursa students Kalvis Kazaks. Sacensībās piedalījās vairāk nekā 200 dalībnieku, kuri pārstāvēja tādas valstis kā Latviju, Lietuvu, Igauniju, Krieviju un citas. Vieglsvaru vieninieku klasē piedalījās Latvijas Universitātes BVEF students Kalvis Kazaks un ar uzrādīto laiku 11:55,94 izcīnīja otro vietu, piekāpjoties vienīgi savam komandas biedram Ģirtam Sokolovam .
Valdis Dombrovskis: EIB financing will enable many generations of UL students to achieve excellence

The agreement signed by the University of Latvia (LU) and the European Investment Bank (EIB) to grant 30 million euro loan for construction of the Academic Centre will enable students to fully realize their potential and help them achieve excellence, asserts Vice-President of the European Commission, Valdis Dombrovskis. "Today, investing in new premises and facilities that will enable our students to fully realize their potential, we invest in our future economic growth. Doctoral students are invited to international doctoral school for soft skills improvement

In order to provide doctoral students with soft skills for success in research, academic and scientific innovation, the Erasmus+ project MODEST invites to participate in an international doctoral school. The training will be organised in three sessions, which will be based on the courses developed within the MODEST project. Fall University offers a variety of digital courses and practical workshops, designed to enhance skills which are valuable in work and everyday life. As a cooperation of Career Service at JGU and the FORTHEM Alliance, Fall University courses will take place from September 27 to October 8 on the BigBlueButton platform (accessible via your browser). UL will continue to support students and scientists from Ukraine

The University of Latvia (UL) continues to stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine and will carry on providing financial support in the spring semester of 2024/2025 to those Ukrainian citizens studying and working at UL, who have emigrated from Ukraine or who cannot return to their homeland. UL grants students from Ukraine 100% relief on tuition fees for the spring semester of the academic year 2024/2025, as well as 100% relief on rent in UL service hotels. The University invites Ukrainian scientists, whose research has been disrupted by the war, to continue their work in Latvia. For this purpose, support funding has been allocated until 31 December 2025. “The University of Latvia stands firmly with the Ukrainian people, and will continue to do so.
