Studentiem, kuri šobrīd piedalās LU studentu Biznesa inkubatora realizētajā “Brīvās pieteikšanās pirmsinkubatora programmas” 12 nedēļu fazē, ir iespēja pieteikties un saņemt ikmēneša stipendijas. Stipendijai tiek aicināti pieteikties tie studenti, kuri piedalās LU studentu Biznesa inkubatora programmas 12 nedēļu posmā un kuriem vidējā svērtā atzīme iepriekšējā akadēmiskajā semestrī nav zemāka par 7 ballēm un pieteikšanās brīdī pretendentam nav akadēmiskie parādi. Stipendijai var pieteikties jebkuras Latvijas augstskolas students. Stipendijas apmērs bakalaura un maģistra līmeņa studentiem ir 200 EUR mēnesī, bet doktorantūras studentiem - 228 EUR. Lai pieteiktos, pretendentam ir jāaizpilda pieteikums un līdz 20. janvāra plkst.16.00 tas jānosūta uz biznesainkubators@lu.lv . Visus pieteikumus izvērtēs komisija un nedēļas laikā sniegs pretendentiem atbildi. Komisijas locekļi individuāli izvērtē katru pretendentu, vērtējot piecu baļļu sistēmā, kur 1 ir zemākais un 5 augstākais

The BA School of Business and Finance’s (BA) PIC PAC Packaging team has qualified for the L’Oréal Brandstorm 2020 international final, winning the Baltic and Polish regional finals. Over the last 28 years since the establishment of the L’Oréal Brandstorm Innovation Competition, more than 40,000 students from 65 countries have taken part in the competition. Participating in the competition provides an opportunity to create innovative solutions in the beauty industry and develop entrepreneurial skills and creativity in collaboration with L’Oréal professionals – sales and marketing specialists, product managers, scientists, engineers, as well as other experts and the company’s cooperation partners. Despite the profile of BA, which is more focused on finance and economics, the team studied the use of plastics in the beauty industry and tried to find an environmentally friendly solution. In order to give as many would-be students as possible the opportunity of obtaining an excellent science-based education, the university has, in its anniversary year, decided to reduce student fees for students who will begin their studies on September 1st of this year. The rector of the university, Professor Mārcis Auziņš justified taking this decision: "In honour of the University of Latvia’s 90th anniversary, in addition to the current 215 annual grants, 90 social grants "Ceļamaizes" will be awarded. These grants are intended for young and talented youngsters who come from economically disadvantaged families. At the same time, the university has unanimously passed a decision to reduce study fees in order to provide as many people as possible the opportunity to get a good quality higher education.” The average reduction of the study fee is approximately 130 lats a year for one study programme. On 8th of April, 2021 MODEST project (Modernization of Doctoral Education in Science and Improvement of Teaching Methodologies) will organize webinar about training course ‘Commercialization of Research’. Governments and academic institutions have embraced the importance of commercializing research through the late twentieth century. One of the key drivers for economic growth nowadays is knowledge, and it involves high investment in education and training. Within MODEST project has been developed training course ‘Commercialization of Research’, which will be presented on April 08, 2021, at 15.30 RT. The course will present programs and experience of the same name course piloting at KNITU and MIIGAiK universities for graduate students. The speakers are the authors of the course: Dr.Dilbar Sultanova (KNRTU, Russia), Dr. Andrey Materukhin (MIIGAIK, Russia) and Tatiana Kalganova (BUL, UK). III Training School for Potential Users “Laser Applications in Spectroscopy, Industry and Medicine” 2014 is held in synergy with the 10th International Young Scientist Conference “Developments in Optics and Communications”. Komisijas locekļi individuāli izvērtē katru pretendentu, vērtējot piecu baļļu sistēmā, kur 1 ir zemākais un 5 augstākais vērtējums pēc šādiem kritērijiem: pārstāvētās komandas ideja; pretendenta loma komandā; pretendenta plānotais laika ieguldījums komandas mērķa īstenošanai nākamajos divos mēnešos no pieteikšanās brīža un plānotās aktivitātes; komandas kopējie mērķi nākamajiem diviem mēnešiem. Lai stipendiju saņemtu visus 3 mēnešus, katra mēneša beigās studentiem būs jāiesniedz atskaite par izdarīto un to, kas ir plānots turpmākā mēneša laikā. Ar stipendiāta pienākumiem, pieteikšanās kārtību un pieteikumu izvērtēšanu var iepazīties programmas nolikumā . Stipendijas tiek nodrošinātas, pateicoties ERAF līdzfinansētajam projektam Nr. 1.1.1.3/18/A/007 “Latvijas Universitātes inovāciju granti studentiem”.

Š.g. 22.- 23. novembrī Politikas zinātnes nodaļas Latvijas – Ķīnas akadēmiskās sadarbības centrs organizēja starptautisku simpoziju “Latvia – China Relations: New Pace, New Opportunities”. Pasākuma ietvaros LU Sociālo zinātņu fakultātes studentu priekšlasījumu konkursa fināls. Tajā studējošie prezentēja savus pētījumus par aktualitātēm Latvijas un Ķīnas iekšējā un ārējā politikā. Labāko prezentāciju autori - doktorantūras studente Malvīne Stučka un bakalaura studiju 3. kursa students Jēkabs Ščipčinskis - tika atzīti par sacensību uzvarētājiem. Viņiem arī bija iespēja prezentēt savu veikumu simpozijā, 23. novembrī, kurā piedalījās piecu Ķīnas augstskolu, LR Ārlietu ministrijas, Eiropas Komisijas pārstāvniecības Latvijā pārstāvji un citi augsta līmeņa jomas profesionāļi. Simpozijs pulcēja un praktiķus, kas ir līdz šim veiksmīgi darbojušies Latvijas- Ķīnas attiecību veidošanā dažādos līmeņos. Pasākuma mērķis bija apspriest esošo kontaktu stiprināšanas iespējas un izveidot vīziju
