19. jūnijā ar zinātnisko darbu prezentācijām noslēdzās otrais ZAB PricewaterhouseCoopers Legal SIA ( PwC Legal) , Konkurences padomes (KP) un Rīgas Juridiskās augstskolas (RJA) rīkotais zinātnisko darbu konkurss konkurences tiesībās. Klātesot pieciem konkursa finālistiem un vērtēšanas komisijas pārstāvjiem, par konkursa uzvarētāju tika atzīts Latvijas Universitātes Juridiskās fakultātes profesionālā maģistra studiju programmas "Tiesību zinātne" students Reinis Ivanovs , saņemot 1000 eiro naudas balvu, prakses vietu KP un ceļazīmi uz RJA rīkoto Vasaras skolu. R. Ivanova izvēlētā tēma bija par Solidārās atbildības tiesiskajiem aspektiem konkurences tiesību pārkāpuma gadījumā. Autors savā darbā apskatīja risinājumus, kādā veidā būtu veicama zaudējumu piedziņa konkurences tiesību pārkāpumu gadījumos un kā sabiedrība varētu efektīvāk atgūt pārkāpumu rezultātā gūtos zaudējumus. Trešdien, 5.decembrī, jaunievēlētās LU Studentu padomes kopsapulcē par padomes priekšsēdētāju ievēlēts Artis Ozoliņš, DF 3.kursa students un līdzšinējais DF Studentu padomes priekšsēdētājs.

9.oktobrī, Spānijas pilsētā Seutā, norisinājās Eiropas triatlona kauss, kur vīriešu elites grupā startēja arī Latvijas Universitātes students un triatlonists Artjoms Gajevskis. Elites vīriešu grupā startēja 70 dalībnieki. Sacensībās Artjomam bija jāveic trīs disciplīnas pēc kārtas - peldēšana, velobraukšana un skriešana. Peldēšanā bija jāveic 750m peldējiens atklātā ūdenī. Artjoms distanci nopeldēja 9 minūtēs un 2 sekundēs. Pēc tam bija jāveic 4 apļi ar velosipēdu. Viena apļa garums bija 5,2km, kopumā veidojot 20,8km garu distanci. Artjoms šo distanci veica 28 minūtēs un 30 sekundēs. Tālāk sekoja pēdējais etaps - skriešana. Skrējiena maršruts veda cauri pilsētai un viens aplis bija 2,5km garš. Skrējiena laikā bija jāveic divi šādi apļi. Artjoma laiks skriešanā bija 16 minūtes un 20 sekundes. Kopvērtējumā Artjoms triatlonu veica 55 minūtēs un 30 sekundēs. Ar šādu rezultātu Artjoms izcīnīja 31.vietu. Sveicam Artjomu ar augstvērtīgo rezultātu!

FORTHEM campus is a new innovative form of student mobility that gathers a group of students from all our universities during one semester. The programme of every FORTHEM campus is always related to one of the seven Labs topics and the courses proposed are tailored for general student audience as well as for students from specific scientific fields. The 1 st FORTHEM campus will take place at the University of Burgundy in Dijon, France, from September 1 st to mid-December 2021 with a special themed programme called Foods and fooding . For the very first time the Student Services Department of the University of Latvia organized the pre-Christmas event “Festive Mood Booster” for the UL international students on December 12. The aim of the event was to boost the festive mood and to show a little insight into Latvian Christmas celebration traditions. Students were baking and glazing personalized gingerbread cookies and were very excited as the majority did it for the first time. Cultural part was organized by the UL dance folk group “Dandari”, who introduced with traditions of Latvian Christmas activities.

The Faculty of Humanities students are welcome to apply for Erasmus+ study and traineeship mobility in the spring semester of 2023. The application can be submitted by 23 September. All bachelor, master and PhD students are eligible for Erasmus+ mobility programme, if they have collected at least 40 credit points (two semesters), have no study debts and will not be on a study break during the mobility period. Erasmus+ is one of the most popular mobility programmes in Europe that provides students with an opportunity to improve their foreing language skills and test their adaptation skills in a foreign country as well as increases the student competitive advantage in the labour market. In consultation with international students, it was concluded that moving to a new city can be a great challenge if the possibilities of local housing and the procedures for obtaining it are not known. The purpose of this guide is to provide clear and accessible information on different housing choices, including dormitories, apartments and shared accommodation.
