Reformation as Commitment to the Church

Reformation was not only an event in church history, but even more it influenced the political, economical, social and of course religious development in the whole world. First of all it had an impact on the Christian church, in a way which is theologically and historically complicated. Also to understand the Latvian history it is impossible to neglect the impact of reformation in this region. This issue examines the special contribution of reformation to the history of religion, to the church as an institution, and to ecumenism in Latvia, in the context of the wider history of religion.
