On December 17th at 18:30, the annual Christmas concert of the Baltic-German University Liaison Office will take place and this time it will be enjoyable as an online-event on Facebook. With a special program pianist Gabriel Miltschitzky, singer and composer Ingrid Rabi (University of Tartu Viljandi Culture Academy) and guitarist Jānis Pastars (Latvian Academy of Music) will perform.
Although because of strict restraints personal meetings are not possible, we have taken care that Christmas sounds as every year. The executive director of the Baltic-German University Liaison Office Ieva Pranka says: “Christmas is a time of being together. Despite the fact that we are obliged to keep a physical distance, by means of modern technologies and discoveries of science we can be united and let celebrate together.”
As Christmas will be different this year, the concert program is divergent, but very variegated. Pianist Gabriel Miltschitzky will delight the listeners of the concert with well-known works from such famous composers like Sergei Prokofjev and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. In the meantime, Ingrid Rabi and Jānis Pastars will create wintery atmosphere and play original works from Ingrid Rabi as well as works from the jazz classics and already well-known Christmas songs.
Gabriel Miltschitzky studies piano playing at the University of Regensburg though at present within the scope of an exchange program he studies at the Latvian Academy of Music by the professor Sergei Osokin. Musician and composer Ingrid Rabi studies at the University of Tartu Viljandi Culture Academy, sings in the union „Ingrid Rabi Quintet“ which plays her original music, as well as in the group „Viljandi Vox“.
