Currently there are more than 1000 foreign students studying at University of Latvia. To complete admission successfully, one has to pay attention to application deadlines, which can vary depending on the country of residence.

For bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral study programmes, the citizens of non-EU/EEA countries and citizens of visa-free countries must apply until 18.06.2025, however, if you are an EU and EEA citizen, your application must be submitted until 21.07.2025. Citizens of the countries with additional assessment must submit their applications until 28.04.2025.
The University of Latvia also provides two professional study programmes – “Dentistry” and “Medicine” and Master Epidemiology and Medical Statistics. Those interested in acquiring one of these programmes, are welcome to submit their applications until 01.05.2025 (visa countries), or until 01.07.2025 (EU, EEA citizens and non-visa country citizens outside of EU/EEA ).

I choose University of Latvia because I wanted the education to be high level, to obtain the knowledge I need for my future but also to have practice. Currently now I’m in my 2nd year of Optometry education and I’m very happy with my choice. The teaching staff is very kind, polite and with a lot of knowledge and experience they also remain aware of any new information regarding our studies. The optometry department has all the new machines and instruments needed for our practice. And of course, from social aspects at University of Latvia there are a lot of international students which are very kind, helpful and welcoming. I’m glad to be part of this community and to have them as colleagues.
