The University of Latvia and its partner institutions inform that the European Commission gave its approval to a new project on cooperation between higher education institutions and enterprises within the Erasmus programme. It was initiated on October 1, 2010.

The INENTER project “Improving the Placements and Internship from Academia to Enterprises; 509962-LLP-1-2010-1-CY-ERASMUS-ECUE)” will last for two years with a total budget of € 390,943. The project consortium includes 13 partner institutions from 10 different European countries, namely the University of Cyprus - the coordinating organization, the Network of the Universities of the Capitals in Europe (UNICA), Tallinn University of Technology, Vilnius University, the Free University of Brussels (Universite Libre de Bruxelles), the University of Warsaw, the University of Vienna, the University of Latvia, the European Association of Erasmus Coordinators (EAEC), the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Chambre de Commerce & d'Industrie du Paris), the European University-Enterprise Network (EUE-net), the University of Lausanne (Université de Lausanne) and the University of Zagreb (University of Zagreb). The main objectives of INENTER are to develop and implement a medium- and long-term quality strategy to identify needs, raise awareness, create and develop activities, models, criteria, instruments and the best practices relating to all levels of enterprise internships for every participating student. The project partners aim to create methods and instruments to measure the quality of such activities. The project focuses on better and more effective communication and collaboration between enterprises and higher education institutions with an emphasis on improving the placements of students in different sectors, as well as expanding closer post graduate students-enterprises research cooperation. The project activities include the following: a European research study, round table discussion between representatives of AII and enterprises, development of appropriate training courses for coordinators, career guidance and practice staff and managers, and European Conference of Placement which will be held to the end of the project.
