A world-scale conference on sinology to be held at the University of Latvia

From 14th to 18th July 2010 a biennual conference of the European Association of Chinese studies „Culture is a crowded bridge” takes place in the main building of the University of Latvia, Riga, Raina bulvaris 19.

It will gather more than two hundred participants from Europe and Asia, who engage in research related to China. The scope of topics is of interdisciplinary interest.

The schedule mainly divides into the following sections:

  • Anthropology and Sociology

  • Translation and Interpretation
Conference papers will be presented in English, French and Chinese. Apart from the official programme there will also be a book exhibition and a Chinese movie night. The Conference is organized by the Department of Asian studies at the University of Latvia. It will be held at the main building of the university (Raina Blvd. 19).
