The audience could admire Indian-Latvian style instrumental music of kokle and the meditative voice of Professor Valdis Muktupavels, and enjoy gracious Indian dances performed by Aija Dvinska un Larisa Podskochaya. Among guests there were representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, professors and leading persons from the University of Latvia, Stradina University, Medicine Academy, as well as students and cooperation partners. In a cosy atmosphere and lively conversations guests could taste the cake and the sweet Indian masala tea.
Thanks to generosity and support of the University of Latvia, teachers of the Centre now will be able to work all together in one place. Due to the growing number of study courses and students, more spacious rooms were urgently needed. Now the Centre offers regular language studies of Hindi, Sanskrit, Persian and Bengali, Yoga at several levels, as well as Indian classical music and dance courses. Active cooperation with European countries and India is being developed, the Centre takes part in diverse cultural activities and scientific research projects.
