„This excellent tool allows the Faculty to develop presentations aimed at different prospective student constituencies, exploring different aspects of the Faculty’s experience or tour sections devoted to particular programmes and students' life,” says Sector Manager Kristine Zaksa.
The virtual tour includes content- managed videos about the largest auditoriums, computer halls, rooms for seminars, departments, libraries and cafes. It also gives visitors a chance to attend the UL Radio Station NABA, located in the Faculty premises, and young parents can pay a virtual visit to the UL nursery „Lustabina”. The tour also includes a visit of the Study Programme Directors facilitating students to arrange tutorials with particular lecturers.
„Tour implementation was a great challenge; our major task was not to present the sites in the best possible light but rather help students to virtually spot the right place and to navigate through the University’s extensive facilities. It should be noted that this is one of the largest virtual tours in the Baltic States providing views of more than eighty 360o virtual scenes,” says the SKATSKAT.LV manager Mikus Opelts.
For more convenient tour browsing SKATSKAT.LV team has created the Faculty’s interactive map to allow the visitors to bookmark their location on the map.
The virtual tour in English is available on the website: Translated by students of the professional study programme Translator of the University of Latvia.
