Lecture of Prof. Dr. Gunnar Prause “The demographic Change and its Economic Consequences”

The demographic change is increasingly determining the public debate in Germany after its first consequences became noticeable. Universities are suffering under declining numbers of applicants and companies have difficulties to find enough trainees for an apprenticeship. In accordance with already published studies this situation will get worse in the years ahead and the already existing shortage of skilled employees will increase.

The presentation will address the demographic change and its political and economic consequences in Germany as well as the effects on the Baltic States. Besides studies and current research results the presentation will also show some practical cases from German economy.

The lecture will be held in English.
