Discourse "The Fall of the Berlin Wall and the Overcoming of the Seperation of Europe"
On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of fall of the Berlin Wall, Prof. Dr. Vaira Vīķe-Freiberga and Prof. Dr. Kurt Biedenkopf will discuss on: "The Fall of the Berlin Wall and the Overcoming of the Seperation of Europe".
On 9th November 1989, almost exactly 20 years ago, the world saw the fall of the Berlin Wall, which - like the Baltic Way - changed the world we live in. On this occasion Prof. Dr. Vaira Vīķe-Freiberga, former President of the Republic of Latvia and Prof. Dr. Kurt Biedenkopf, former Prime Minister of the Free State of Saxony will discuss the following subject: "The Fall of the Berlin Wall and the Overcoming of the Seperation of Europe".
This panel-discussion will be moderated by the Latvian journalist Gints Grube.
The event has been organized by the Konrad Adenauer foundation, the German Embassy Riga, the Latvian University and the Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen e. V. The discussion will be held on November 4, 2009 at 16.00 in the Small assembly hall, Raina blvd. 19
The event will be held in German and Latvian.
