REGULATIONS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF LATVIA ON PERSONAL DATA PROCESSING

In order for the University of Latvia (hereinafter - LU) to ensure the implementation of continuing professional education, professional development education, professional competence improvement of teachers, non-formal adult education (hereinafter - continuing education programs), interest education programs  and professional qualification compliance examinations (hereinafter – PQC examinations), including registration of a person for continuing education, interest education or PQC examination an agreement regarding the acquisition of a continuing education or interest education program, perform attendance records, issue a document certifying education and provide other administrative activities, the personal data of a participant of a continuing education program, interest education program or PQC examination are required at the University of Latvia. The processing of personal data is necessary in order for the University of Latvia to be able to provide a high-quality continuing education program, interest education program or PQC examination acquisition service, including issuing an educational document or certificate of professional qualiffication recognition in accordance with the regulatory enactments of the Republic of Latvia.

In order to ensure the above, including the correct processing of your personal data, we inform you that:

1. By filling in the application form for one of the LU continuing education or interest education programs or PQC examination, you agree to the processing of the following personal data (name, surname, personal identification code, contact address, telephone number, e-mail, acquired education, job, position, status at LU). Processing of personal data processing and necessary contracts for preparation of continuing education or interest education program or PQC examination acquisition services (further in text - services), provision of services, mutual communication, administration of the study process, invoicing and issuance of educational documents or certificate of professional qualiffication recognition.

2. Processing of personal data by the University of Latvia to Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of the personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46 / EC (General Data Protection Regulation) on the basis of point (a) of the first paragraph of Article 6 (the data subject has given his consent to the processing of his personal data) and point (b) (for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is party).

3. Please be informed that the personal data submitted by you will be stored in accordance with the following term:

3.1. application form data, if an agreement on the acquisition of a continuing education program is entered into force - in accordance with the Nomenclature of the University of Latvia;

3.2. data of the application form, if an agreement regarding the acquisition of a continuing education or interest education program is not entered into - until the first lesson of the continuing education or interest education program;

3.3. contact information (name, e-mail) for receiving news about continuing education or interest education programs will be stored until the person withdraws consent to receive such information.

3.4. data of the application form for PQC examination - in accordance with the Nomenclature of the University of Latvia;

4. Personal data shall be erased or destroyed after the expiry of the data processing period.

5. If you wish to withdraw your consent for point 3.2. and 3.3. for the processing of personal data specified in clauses, please contact the personal data protection specialists of the University of Latvia (datu.specialisti@lu.lv).

By registering for participation in a specific continuing education or interest education program or PQC examination and participating in its activities, you give your consent to the processing of the above-mentioned personal data and its stated purpose.
