Exercise of UL employees
The sports Centre of the University of Latvia offers four times a week the opportunity for every employee of the UL to participate in free renewal pause classes in everyday clothing without involving any additional equipment.
One activity takes about 20 minutes, during which the main task is to move the body. The emphasis is on exercises related to problem areas for seated workers – neck, back and lumbar areas. These types of classes help reduce muscle strain, improve circulation and reduce fatigue from long-term sitting, promote concentration ability and productivity, and reduce the risk of work injuries and health problems associated with low-mobility work.
Recovery pauses occur:
Mondays from 12.30 to 12.50, Raiņa bulvārī 19, banquet hall (basement);
Wednesdays from 12.30 to 12.50, at UL Sciences House, Jelgava Street 3, 401. auditorium;
Wednesdays from 13.15 to 13.35, in Aspazijas bulvāris 5, 121. auditorium;
Fridays from 12.30 to 12.50, in Aspazijas bulvāris 5, fitness Hall, room 111.
Activities are led by UL IZPF lecturer Rihards Parandjuks as well as UL fitness trainers.
