Internship is an important part of studying process for the acquiring of the professional Master's degree. It fosters preparation of a qualified and creative manager capable of working professionally.
Internship consists of Internship I, II, III and IV. Internship place: company, advisory firm or institution which practical activity is related to international business. Moreover it can also be a company which is planning to initiate external economic activity, Latvian company in foreign countries, foreign enterprise, embassy or consular office.
During internship, the student performs duties as assigned by the professional internship supervisor within the enterprise or institution and also gathers, compiles and analyzes information that, according to the internship task, must be reflected in the internship report.

The aim of the course is to develop and improve students’ communication skills in Russian in everyday, sociocultural and educational spheres. The course activates the students’ skills in speaking, reading, listening and writing; moreover, the course introduces the students to new lexical units, as well as develops the knowledge of the Russian grammar, improves the skills to use the mastered grammatical structures, expressing various intents. The course consists of six topics. Mastering a topic includes work with vocabulary and grammar, as well as written and spoken (audio and video) texts; the topic finishes with a discussion. The topics selected for the course offer an opportunity to revise, consolidate and activate the mastered skills and knowledge, as well as to go back to the difficulties foreigners meet while studying Russian as a foreign language (including the usage of various cases, verbs of motion and the perfective and imperfective aspect of the Russian verbs).
The main objective of the Portuguese language I course is to develop students' communication skills and competences at A 1 level in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
The course provides vocabulary, grammar, and cultural training which is focused on everyday elementary situations.
The main task of the course is to teach the students to understand the situations properly, tell about themselves, their family and get to know others. The communicative approach facilitates the acquisition and development of a variety of language skills and functions, including the basics of reading, writing, listening and conversational skills. Audio and video recordings, Internet resources, and other authentic materials are used to promote language learning and intercultural dialogue. From the very beginning, the students learn the differences between the Brazilian and Portuguese language variants.

The study course is intended for students without any preliminary knowledge of Latvian. It is designed in a way that allows students to acquire basic reading, writing, and speaking skills that are necessary for elementary everyday communication at level A1. The course is divided into six topics, each of them gives students an example of a different real-life situation: getting acquainted, studying, choosing a profession, rural and city life, interests, hobbies, visiting a library, Latvian traditional cuisine, shopping, etc. The course material covers communication phrases, required vocabulary, and grammar.
The course has been developed for the FORTHEM Digital Academy and is designed for self-paced studying, except the speaking practice which is organized in the form of online classes.
The course is designed in accordance with the content specifications of the A1 level requirements adopted by the Council of Europe.

The lessons are observed, analysed and evaluated by both the teacher and the students. The attention is paid to the selection of teaching materials, their availability, solution of other various practical situations. An insight into the history of Spanish language teaching in Latvia will help to understand the development of this topic in Latvia.

Adult Pedagogical Education Centre (APEC) of the Faculty of Education, Psychology and Art (FEPA) was established in 1993 with a view to contributing to the further education of teachers in Latvia. It’s work began in 1994/1995 academic year, hosting the first students and organising the first course of further education courses. The Centre has experience in developing and implementing large ESF projects.
