The Faculty of Business, Management and Economics (The FBME) as a part of the University of Latvia is actively involved in several international activities within different programs, projects and networks. Each year The FBME host about 200 incoming exchange students within different international activities and programs. Faculty has signed ERASMUS+ agreement in 26 countries with best Higher Education institutions in Europe. Also provides mobility options within Campus Europae foundation, ISEP network, Institutional bilateral agreements, ERASMUS+ world wide mobility (KA 107) and others.

The aim of this course is to provide improved and practically applicable knowledge about the role of state institutions in governing of public and private organizations. Knowledge of makeup of state institutions and their relationship is necessary to officers of all levels in every state institution but is also highly desirable quality to managers of private organizations. The course provides practically applicable knowledge about those decisions of state institutions, which are binding on private persons, as well as about means of legal defence against unlawful decisions of state institutions.

Regarding the rental agreement of residential property – conclusion, subject, subjects, as well as the termination of the agreement, in total three lectures are devoted to the topic. Issues concerning the relationship between the lessor, the tenant and his/her family members, as well as their rights and obligations, issues concerning the state and local governments are covered. The aim of the course is to introduce students with basics of subject teaching methodology considering modern educational theories and practice. In the study course students will gain knowledge and practical skills necessary for professional acting in planning and conducting of the science study course. Students have to identify aims and tasks of the study process, work with official regulation documents in science teaching as well as acquire teaching methods, forms and use of teaching aids and media resources on basic school level.

“Mikrotīkls” Doctoral Scholarship in the Field of Exact and Medical Sciences

The scholarship has been established in support of outstanding University of Latvia (UL) 1 st year doctoral students in 2017 by the patron “Mikrotīkls”. Its goal is to promote excellence at the UL and to advance growth and research opportunities of the most talented young doctoral students. The scholarship is intended for doctoral students in the field of exact and medical sciences from the UL Faculty of Biology, Faculty of Physics, Mathematics and Optometry, Faculty of Computing, Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Chemistry. Upon successful fulfilment of all conditions, a scholarship is granted for three years for the development of a doctoral thesis of superior quality. Number of scholarships : 5. Scholarship amount: EUR 12 000 per academic year (EUR 1 000 per month).
