Research work 3 – Empirical research and novelty
Course
The study course is implemented in the 5th and 6th semesters of the 3nd study year, taking into account the knowledge, skills and competencies acquired in other study courses and independently conducting research work for the doctoral thesis, particularly focusing on one`s empirical research and novelty, approbation of the research results by participating in a colloquium, seminar, conference and preparing a scientific article, as well as ensuring the transfer of knowledge in pedagogical work. The study course is implemented with students being practically employed (permanently or internship) in a company or organization. Within the course, its participants also participate in the activities of the doctoral school of the University of Latvia or other equivalent scientific institution, where valuable experience is shared with colleagues (in the form of colloquia), allowing students to present research, share and identify other researchers' experience in an informal environment

The aim of the Bachelor's study program "Business Management" is to provide students with an academic education, competitive professional training, and practical skills in management science, ensuring a stable and sustainable demand for these specialists in both the Latvian and international labor markets. The program also aims to equip students and graduates with the ability to start their own business ventures. The first academic year consists of a unified curriculum for all participants in the study program. Specialization courses begin in the second academic year. Full-time students have the opportunity to specialize in Organization Management, Marketing, International Business, and Business Analytics. Part-time students can choose specializations in Organization Management and Marketing.

Erasmus+ study mobility offers students the opportunity to study at a partner university in one of the participating countries while receiving a grant. This programme aims to provide students with valuable academic, linguistic, and cultural experiences by studying abroad, fostering the development of well-qualified, open-minded, and internationally experienced professionals. All students enrolled at the Faculty of Law without academic or tuition fee debts, are eligible to participate. Within each study cycle (Bachelor, Master, or PhD), students can undertake a study and/orpracticemobility for up to 12 months. Those who have already participated in the programme may apply again in the next study cycle.

Erasmus+ mobility for traineeships provide students with an opportunity to participate in traineeship in foreign companies or institutions in an Erasmus+ programme country and receive a scholarship . The aim of Erasmus+ traineeship is to help students meet the demands of the labour market of the European Union, to provide an opportunity to develop the students’ skills (including language skills) and improve the understanding of social and economic culture of the particular country within the context of gaining work experience, as well as to promote the development of highly qualified, open and internationally experienced future professionals. Erasmus+ traineeship is available for all level students (Bachelor, Master, Doctoral), who are registered for studies at the UL and are not in an academic leave. The students whose the UL study programme stipulates traineeship are prioritised . The UL does not offer this opportunity to recent graduates. Doctoral students may participate
