The aim of the course is to acquire in-depth knowledge in the one of the sub-fields of international law by participating in moot court of international judicial body. The course entails organisation of the competition for the students for the selection of the team of the students. The course provides selection of the most successful candidates, preparation and submission of the written pleadings for the moot court competition at European or World’s level by representing the University of Latvia and, depending on the format of the competition, Republic of Latvia.

The aim of the Bachelor's study programme "History and Archaeology" is to provide students with theoretical knowledge and research skills and competences in the field of history. During the studies, the students will develop an understanding of the processes of general and Latvian history and will acquire basic research skills, especially those related to the acquisition, analysis and use of information. The study programme also includes a number of practice-oriented courses, giving students the opportunity to become directly involved in the work of the field of history and archaeology.
Praxis at courts and other relevant institutions related to the field of criminal law allow students to secure, extend and test their theoretical knowledge in the field of criminal law, and it is a part of the unified process of studies. The praxis lasts for five weeks at the end of the first year of master’s degree studies. The main goal of the praxis is to allow students to learn about how the courts and other institutions in the area of criminal law do their work. Students can also gain practical skills in this process.
The aim of the practice is to broaden and deepen previously acquired knowledge, skills and abilities in the chosen specialization: territorial planning, environmental planning or geoinformatics.
During the practice students get acquitaned with functions, structure and regulations of the particular institution. Gradually they get involved in everyday activities of the institution, participating in design and/or implementation of planning documents, drafting and/or impementation of a project, correspondence and events: meetings, consultations of inhabitants, public hearings of planning documents. Following their supervisor’s dicertions students complete other specific tasks at the place of practice. During the practice students do neccessary research and collect information for their Master’ s thesis.
In order not to stop at what has been achieved and to continue to improve the quality of studies, we invite students to get involved and express their opinion: 1. In "Midsemester"surveys The purpose of these surveys is to find out students' opinions about the course, how it has been conducted so far, with the aim of initiating possible changes during the rest of the semester. "Midsemester" evaluation takes place in the fourth-fifth week of the semester. Lecturers meet student representatives and write a short summary of the meeting, focusing on the agreed changes for the rest of the semester, and notify the students in this regard. It is a lecturer's responsibility to ensure that the agreed changes are implemented. 2. In surveys at the end of a course Surveys are mandatory in order to get the opinion of allstudents about the implemented study course. The more qualitatively they are filled in, the easier it is to identify what prevents students from learning thatis intended
Erasmus+ mobility for traineeships provide students with an opportunity to participate in traineeship in foreign companies or institutions in an Erasmus+ programme country. The aim of Erasmus+ traineeship is to help students meet the demands of the labour market of the European Union, to provide an opportunity to develop the students’ skills (including language skills) and improve the understanding of social and economic culture of the particular country within the context of gaining work experience, as well as to promote the development of highly qualified, open and internationally experienced future professionals. Erasmus+ Traineeship Mobility is available for students of any level (Bachelor, Master, Doctoral) who are registered for studies at the UL and are not on academic leave. Priority is given to students whose study program includes a traineeship course. Doctoral students may participate in Erasmus+ traineeship provided that its objective is the preparation of the thesis
In 2019, the Kārlis Ozoliņš-Emīls Mednis Charitable Trust (USA) in cooperation with the "Friends of the University of Latvia" has established a scholarship to support students of theology and religious sciences at the University of Latvia (UL). The scholarship is intended for students of all programmes at the UL Faculty of Theology, starting from the 2 nd year of bachelor’s programme studies, to cover tuition fees, daily expenses, participation in conferences or purchase of study materials. For doctoral students of the final year, the support is intended for development of their doctoral thesis. The winning team in the final round was "Pavisam privāti" , consisting of University of Latvia Faculty of Law (JF) Bachelor's program in Law students Katrīna Annija Ročāne, Sintija Platā, and Gints Osis . The title of Best Oralist among Bachelor's students was awarded to Salvis Kārklis from the team "Trust me, I’m a lawyer" (LU JF), while among Master's students , the award went to Elvis Grinbergs from the team "Vecie intriganti" (LU JF).
Event for the 1 st year students "Aristotle" / "Aristotelis 2006" The annual celebration of young students at the University of Latvia in September was supported by the patron "Swedbank". ECOF-10 The patron "Swedbank" supported the International Conference "10 th European Conference on Organized Films / ECOF 10". It took place from 20 to 24 August. Days of FizMati or the students of the UL Faculty of Physics and Mathematics Fizmatdienas 2005 The event has a long tradition.
