and wefeltourselveswelcomeinthis Institute. NowI have worked at ISSP UL foralmost 30years.About 3 years ago our “Wide-band gap materials” laboratory teamed up with the Spectroscopy Laboratory headed by the young and promisingDr.physAnatolijsŠarakovskis.We are a friendly team and I am pleased with what we have achieved over the years. It is a pleasure to have a strong generation of young scientists, in which Icaninvest my knowledge and experience.I am fortunate to work with distinguished and passionate young specialistssuch asbothGunas(KrieķeandDoķe),AndrisAntuzevičs, etc., as well as with the studentRihardsRuska, and I hope they all willhaveremarkable successin physics in future.I am glad that they accept me in their team and trust my knowledge.I am also grateful to my long-termconfrere in theresearch and a close friend –LaimaTrinklere.Today, thanks to the participation of theInstitute in international projects, it is possible to work withstate-of-the-artequipment, whichopensa wide range of opportunities
