Grammar is taught in close connection with the texts and topics, drawing students' attention to specific grammar constructions.

The course offers participants the opportunity to learn the skills to build a pedagogically reasonable course programme, to implement on learning outcomes based study process and student learning achievement assessment. Workshops offer participants opportunity to independently develop or improve their course programme.

EU motor insurance law

The aim of this course is to introduce students with regulation of motor insurance law in EU law from a systematic point of view. The course tasks are to provide characterisation of motor insurance regulation and its development in EU law, to discuss regulatory principles and institutes in conjuncture with relevant CJEU court practice and national approaches as well as to solve typical situations involving EU motor insurance law. Experts­–employees of the companies –share their lectures on their professional experience and knowledge, contributing to the students' deeper understanding of how knowledge is applied in practice, as well as allowing them to focus more closely on a particular topic or to identify major issues. J. Kļaviņa piemiņas stipendija

The scholarship was established in 2019 to honour the father of the patron Filips Kļaviņš– an American Latvian, world-famous oncology research specialist Prof.Dr.med. Jānis Viliberts Kļaviņš (1921–2018), who studied at the University of Latvia in the 1930s, but developed his scientific career in the United States. The scholarship reflects the life course of Jānis V. Kļaviņš, namely, its aim is to support a talented University of Latvia student engaged in oncology research. Scholarshipis intendedfor the University of Latvia Faculty of Biology master's degree students who are engaged in molecular biology research specifically in the field of oncology. Short-term collective and individual student mobility: The first call for proposals was launched in November 2019. Of the 21 proposed projects, 14 were selected by the Mobility Mission Board on the basis of their quality, geographical and thematic diversity. The call for applications was opened to students in mid-January. (1100 applications (of which 980 were eligible) for 455 available places in 13 activities. For individual mobility, we received 44 applications (of which 29 were eligible) Course offer in English: The aim of this activity is to provide a sufficient number of courses taught in English at all levels of study and in the relevant disciplines at all universities. Report on barriers to organizing mobility Work on joint/double degrees Erasmus+ agreements: new agreements are being negotiated between universities that have not previously signed them. Please contact with admissions coordinator for further matters. Master’s degree and PhD students can apply for visa in Turkey and for temporary residence permit here in Latvia. Note! If you are still studying in last semester and don’t have a diploma, you can apply with provisional results from your school. You will need to submit an obtained diploma afterwards. Note! Applicants, who submit documents for temporary residence permit after August 20 th , have to choose express examination of documents for 10 days. If the residence permit obtaining process continues longer than expected, LU makes a decision

The aim of this course is to introduce students to the regulation of unfair commercial practice prohibition law in EU law from a systematic point of view. Within the course, there will provide characterisation of unfair commercial practice prohibition law both at the general level and at the EU law level, revealed development of unfair commercial practice prohibition regulation in EU law, reviewed regulatory principles and institutes in conjuncture with relevant CJEU court practice and national approaches.
