Received a doctor’s degree in Economics and has participated in many research projects as a leading researcher, has international scientific publications. His scientific interests are in the areas of Consumer behavior, Competition, Productivity and International Economics. He has improved his skill in different prestigious universities, like Columbia University in the City of New York. He enthusiastically works with international students at the University of Latvia in different Economics related courses, like “Microeconomics” and “Macroeconomics”. The aim of the course is to improve students’ skills in working with interesting, topical authentic texts, to interpret them and perform their analysis, to present them as well as to use the language in a differentiated way in the monologue, dialogue (exchange of opinions, discussion, reporting, descriptions, narration), to acquire the most important strategies for the text reception and production, paying special attention to further development of spoken and written speech. In 2016 , the moot court competition was conducted exclusively in written format , with all awarded places going to students from the University of Latvia Faculty of Law . According to the judges' evaluation, the Best Written Submission was submitted by the University of Latvia team "Dark Souls" , consisting of Kristens Vorslavs, Kristaps Zaķis, and Ēriks Krēsliņš . From 2009 to 2016 , the civil law moot court competition was organized by ELSA Latvia .

About a year and a half ago, the first seminar was organized where doctoral students and degree applicants talked about the progress and plans of developing their theses. We plan to repeat this procedure again and make it an annual tradition. A discussion with degree applicants was already held; during it, those present were introduced to the procedure for submitting and defending a doctoral thesis at the FMOF UL, Physics Department. Now we plan to move further and let the 1st year doctoral students, who are just starting their doctoral studies, talk about their plans, while the next seminars will be attended by 2nd and 3rd year doctoral students. The UL Centre for European and Transition Studies (CETS) was established in 2000 as a unit of the University of Latvia. It aims to promote and support interdisciplinary academic and applied research on European issues, involving students from both EU Member States and from a number of third countries. CETS focuses on sectors, such as economics, political science, law, public administration and regional policy.
