Digitalization of studies – the beginning of positive changes

Digitalization of studies is useful for every student who comes into contact with various study materials on a daily basis. It helps to achieve academic success and gain knowledge by learning to find the right resources. The team working on the improvement of the UL study internal system conducted research and created a prototype tool that would not only make it easier to navigate the UL information system, but also improve the organization and modernization of the study process. In the process of implementing the idea, the team did almost the impossible – created solutions to make it easier for everyone to get everything they need from the ULinformation system, which would serve both as a reference material and as a source of help. The development of this system required the acquisition of new skills, which not so much helped in existing work, but improved the ability to give participants a new perspective on technology. Dermatovenerology
Course
When the course of the dermatovenerology will be assimilated students are ready to recognise the types of eflorescences, skin structure and functions, the most common skin diseases – aethiology, pathogenesis, clinical picture and princips of therapy. Such diseases as acne vulgaris, rosacea, psoriasis, lichen planus, bullous dermatoses, autoimmune lupus discoides and systemic lupus erythematosus, sclerodermia, fungal superficial and deep infections, types of dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, allergic and contact dermatitis, saeborrhoeic dermatitis, parasitical infections will be teached. Student’s will have the knowledge about the newest technologies in the field of dermatovenerology. As well after the course of dermatovenerology student’s will have the information about the benign, premalignant and malignant skin tumours – diagnosis, clinical picture, risk factors, therapy princips, prophylactic tools. Erasmus+ Study Mobility

Erasmus+ Study Mobility is available for all level students (Bachelor, Master, Doctoral), who are registered for studies at the UL and are not in an academic leave. The minimum period of study mobility – 2 months, the maximum – 12 months. Students have an opportunity to experience up to 12 months long Erasmus+ study and/or traineeship mobility during one study cycle. Erasmus+ Study Mobility is based on Erasmus+ bilateral agreements signed individually by each UL facultystating the number of students and study level in corresponding academic year. Cisco Networking Academy

The University of Latvia has had the Cisco Networking Academy since 2001, the first in Latvia. Initially, the University of Latvia was a regional academy, which further trained instructors from other Latvian universities. Currently, the University of Latvia has an Academy Support Centre. All four CCNA (Cisco Certified Networking Associate) level training courses are available to students at the Faculty of Computing of the University of Latvia. They learn both networking theory and the skills of creating switched, routed and managed computer networks. Students who have completed all four courses can pass the CCNA certification, which is recognised worldwide by the IT industry. Elementary School No. 13, in the class of Mr. Blumenthal. In June 1930, he was admitted to the boys’ science class 1a at Riga City German Gymnasium. In elementary school, Kurtdid the best in natural sciences. K. Hagenalso enrolled in the gymnasium, studying in the natural science class of Mr. Mittelštedts. At the gymnasium, Kurt was interested in sports – he had joined the tennis sector of the Riga 1 st Cycling Society and also learned English language. Yet in the 1930s, the Hagen's family life unravelled. Already in 1932, the elder brother Rūdolfs left the apartment on the Dzirnavu iela. He married Staņislava Gintilis, a Lithuanian, and moved to an apartment on the Mūrnieku iela, later – to the Stabu iela and other addresses. In 1935, Kurt’s parents divorced, and at the end of January he moved with his mother to an apartment on the Antonijas iela, where they stayed only for a few months, and later both settled in an apartment on the Valdemāra iela.
