Course aims: to provide comprehension of computer-assisted methods of text analysis that are frequently used in digital humanities and digital social sciences and to equip students with practical skills necessary for working with software that performs operations of text analysis and visualization. Learning outcomes: 1. Comprehension of the role and place of quantitative methods in studying textual sources. 2. Knowledge of frequently used computer-assisted methods of text analysis and visualization. 3. Ability to apply skills for working with software of corpus management and corpus analysis. 4. Ability to apply skills for working with programming languages that are frequently used for the statistical analysis of texts and visualization in humanities and social sciences. The language of instruction is Latvian.

The aim of the study course is to provide students with opportunities for successful and full-fledged master's studies with specialization in the sub-sectors of geography. The aim of the course is to provide students with extensive knowledge of the human head, neck and organ systems, their structure, development and functions, using - traditional and modern anatomy research methods, including computer training. Tasks of the study course: 1. to teach the external and internal structure of skull bones and their connections; the structure and function of the muscles of the head and neck, with particular reference to the topography of the skull and neck. 2. developed the latest advances in detail, detailing the human internal organs in relation to their function and development, giving the topography of the organs. The study course is taught in Latvian and English using the International Anatomical Nomenclature (Terminologia anatomica). Knowledge of this course is the basis for the next course of anatomy.

Course
The aim of the course is to form students' idea of plant biochemical components, biosynthetic pathways, their functional significance and practical use. Tasks: • To gain knowledge about the connection of biochemical processes with the main functions of plants; • To form an understanding of the dependence of physiological processes on metabolic processes; • To acquire knowledge about the planning, implementation and measurements of plant experiments; • To gain knowledge about plant chemical compounds with practical significance; • To promote the ability to recognize plant biochemical components according to their structural formulas. To achieve the goal, a set of theoretical knowledge will be acquired, which will be used in analyzing and discussing the possibilities of practical use of different plant species in the context of their biochemical components. The course is taught in Latvian.

The tasks of the course are as follows: 1. to provide in-depth knowledge of the nature, basic elements and regulatory framework of marketing activities; consumer aspects - making and purposeful purchasing decisions; providing information to consumers; 2. Within the course, an independent research is carried out under the guidance of the lecturer. Course tasks: 1. To acquire skills to critically analyze scientific literature, 2. To formulate the aim, tasks and question of the work, to choose and apply the appropriate research method, 3. Summarize the results, formulate conclusions according to the tasks and results, 4. To formulate the practical significance of the results and proposals, as well as possible further research directions. The study course examines the concept of visual communication and its operating principles. The course provides an insight into the professional work of designers, emphasizing the interaction between information technology and communication design. By developing a visual communication design project, students in practice strengthen the theoretical knowledge acquired in lectures. The aim of the course is to acquire knowledge about the meaning of visual communication design and application of its principles in various design projects. Study course objectives are: to analyze the role of visual communication in the overall communication process; to provide an overview of the principles of organizing a visual message; to develop an understanding of the choice of visual communication strategies for the development of a user-oriented project. The language of instruction is Latvian.

This course represents the continuation of the course ‘Turkish language text translation I’. The course practices general translation from and into Turkishlanguage, not only of short texts, but already of relatively long ones. The texts chosen are related to current local political, cultural, educational, literary and legal issues that meet the students' interests whenever possible. They cover the most important problems translators come across when translating from and into Turkish ( collocations, typical phrasings, tenses, style, etc.). Enhance the skills and strategies needed to translate texts from and into Turkish. Identifying and overcoming the most linguistic and cultural problems they face in translation. Expand their knowledge and use of specialized vocabulary.
