The Seminar is a form of individualized studies established by the Faculty of Computer Science - a scientific seminar. It is implemented by dozens of lecturers and / or researchers (possibly also doctoral students and doctoral candidates, as well as specialists in industry), each leading their own sub-seminar. There are 90 contact minutes per week for the seminar. The specific content and type of lessons is determined by the leader of each specific seminar at his / her own discretion. The aim of the course is to teach students to participate in discussions with professors and other students about current issues in the field of computer science research and practice. The tasks of the seminar for the students are to study the literature independently, solve the tasks, present to the colleagues what they have read, as well as learn the methodologically correct presentation of the knowledge of their specialty. When applying for a Bachelor’s programme, applicants have to present the following documents: Secondary School diploma (Sashualo ganatlebis atestati) or General Education Diploma (Sruli zogadi ganatlebis atestati) AND Transcript of records When applying for Master’s programme , applicants have to present the following documents: Bachelor’s degree (Bakalavri diploma) and diploma supplement. Officially certified copies of the documents must be presented in original language and in English. It is recommended to submit additional education documents (if available) for more qualitative recognition of your education. Documents (education diploma and statement on punishability) have to be legalised with an Apostille certificate. Residence permit Documents for temporary residence permit have to be submitted: personally in the Embassy of Latvia in Georgia, or It could be provided by University of Latvia. After being nominated for the Erasmus+ traineeship

The student has to prepare the traineeship agreement (Learning Agreement: Before the Mobility) [ Contact Person - International coordinator , Responsible person at the Sending Institutio n - Director of your study programme at the UL], which is one of the most important mobility documents. The Learning Agreement (LA) is prepared before the mobility. Before preparing the document, discuss the objectives of traineeship and the possible credit point amount with the programme director and the host party. After obtaining all 3signatures, save the document as PDF and send it to the Mobility Division. The Mobility Division shall invite the student to sign the contract when all 3parties have signed the LA.

Optical materials
Course
The aim of the study course is to familiarize students with optical materials that are used in vision correction aids, eyeglasses and contact lenses and optical devices. The course introduces the principles of matter formation and the properties of substances that are determined by the electron structure of atoms. The structure and properties of inorganic glasses, polymers, liquid crystals and photochromic materials are considered. Knowledge of the characteristics of electromagnetic radiation, production, spectral composition and measurement of light intensity. Finally, light-tissue interaction is discussed. The essence of the refractive index, the effect of the Abbe on the chromatic aberration of the lenses, as well as the reflection, absorption and dispersion of light in materials are explained.

Internship in Asian Studies

The aim of the course is to strengthen theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of Asian regions, languages and communication culture, to provide students with the opportunity to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge of different Asian regions, languages and cultures in a real workplace under the supervision of a specialist, describing the experience in an academic paper, as well as get acquainted with the projects, offers and foreign partnerships of a specific non-governmental organization, state, local government or company in the mentioned field. The objectives of the course are: 1. to identify career opportunities, fields of work and jobs in Latvia and abroad for graduates of BSP “Asian Studies”; 2. to perform work duties in a real workplace under the supervision of a supervisor, applying theoretical knowledge about Asian regions, their cultures and languages; 3. to prepare for the future profession, to create a CV and a contact network in the professional field; 4
