, a development of methodology for estimating the thickness of WTe 2 2D structures on SiO 2 using optical contrast analysis has started. At the end of March, a visit was made to Kaunas University of Technology in Lithuania, where contacts for WTe 2 nanowires were fabricated using EBL.

About SCIENTIX Scientix promotes and supports Europe-wide collaboration between STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) teachers, education researchers, policy makers and other STEM education professionals. Initially (2009-2012), the project set up an online portal to compile and present European STEM education projects and their results, and organized a number of teacher seminars. The main networking event was the Scientix conference in Brussels in May 2011. The aim of the second phase of the Scientix project (2013-2015) was to expand the community in each of the participating countries. Through its network of National Contact Points (NCPs), Scientix reached out to teacher communities in each country and promoted the development of national strategies to increase the use of data-driven and other innovative approaches in science and mathematics education. These activities also continued in the third phase of Scientix (2016-2019), funded by the European Union
The annual "Career Opportunities Day" will take place on September 1 this year at the Science House at Jelgavas Street 3 from 10.00-16.00 It is an annual exhibition of companies, in which the largest companies and organizations of Latvia participate. Participation in Career Opportunities Day is an opportunity for employers to promote the visibility of their company by informing students about the services that the company provides or the products, technologies that it develops. During the event, information stands of companies will be arranged. The exhibition will be the main meeting place where to meet the most motivated students of the University of Latvia, establish contacts with potential trainees or employees, as well as provide students with information about the requirements of employers for their successful integration into the labor market. By attending the Career Opportunities Day events, students will be able to get acquainted with Latvian and international companies
The course provides for an in-depth study of the culture and literature of German-speaking countries in the context of regional and transnational settings (European identity). The aim of the course is to advance knowledge-based skills required for analytical assessment of research issues in the field of humanities and knowledge transfer, for which purpose students are introduced to a wide range of empirical factual material, as well as perform independent research and pilot studies.

1. to improve analytical skills required for the assessment of respective issues and knowledge transfer in the field of research in the humanities;

In 2025 the summer school is planned to be held live in Riga. Summer School of Latvian Language and Culture is organized for students and other interested parties who want not only to learn and improve their Latvian language skills, but also to broaden their knowledge of Latvian history, art and folklore. The students who study the Latvian Language or other Baltic languages at their home universities are particularly encouraged to apply. We offer: intensive, modern and interactive Latvian language course (grammar, reading, writing, speaking, 64 academic hours), which includes such topics as the human personality, experience, knowledge and skills, friendly contacts and time spent in Latvia, versatile and unique Riga, city tour and orientation, daily life and holidays in Latvia, Latvian traditional and modern culture, current events in Latvian media, Latvia’s and Latvians’ success stories in the world; lecture on Latvian history and politics, getting acquainted with modern Latvian
changes correlate with variations in the photochromic properties. On 7 November, M. Zubkins delivered a presentation titled “Magnetron sputtering deposition and characterisation of photochromic yttrium oxyhydride and Ga-based oxide thin films” at the SWEB project Industry Day on advanced smart windows. On December 12, E. Strods attended the RSD 2024 international conference, which took place in Ghent, Belgium. During the conference, a poster presentation titled “Optical and photochromic properties of yttrium oxyhydride thin films deposited by reactive magnetron sputtering” was presented, showcasing the results obtained in this project. This presentation was awarded the " Best Poster Presentation " prize (Figure 7). During the conference, new contacts were established with representatives from the companies "Solares" and "Robeko", as well as with researchers from Ghent University and the University of West Bohemia.
