At the beginning of each academic year, a new UL Basketball League season is started, in which all those UL students and employees for whom basketball is a matter of the heart participate. Before each season, teams with different players are formed, which are united by the represented faculty, long-term friendship or just love for basketball. You can apply for the UL Basketball League in 2 ways - together with friends or fellow students to create your own team or join an existing team. In the basketball league, 2 rounds of the main tournament are played, playing once every semester against each league team, and after that, at the end of the school year, playoffs take place, in which the championship title is fought. During the tournament it is possible to follow the statistics of each player on the basketball league website. At the end of each month, the best player of the league is awarded, and the most talented players of each team are invited to the Star Game in the middle

The UL Doctoral School in LLL seeks to: Serve as a forum for the development of ideas and practices in each programme. Develop and assure the quality of doctoral supervision. Programmers’ Day of Latvia is celebrated since 1986. The event annually brings together students, lecturers, business representatives and IT enthusiasts from higher education institutions of Latvia. Under the auspices of the event, a conference is organised, featuring the talks by experts from both the academic environment and the IT industry about current and innovative topics. Workshops are organized for students to gain entirely new knowledge and skills. The participants of the event also have the opportunity to become immersed in discussions, make contacts and be inspired to implement new creative ideas.
