The main task of the course is to acquaint students with the ,ain features of the religions of India, China, Japan and of the Middle East beginning with the ancient period up to the modern age. The ontological, anthropological, cosmological and soteriological aspects are discussed as the central and the most important ones in the context of Comparative religion.

This course provides introduction to data analysis that will help students within their scientific research, bachelor and master thesis preparation. Carrying out any research, it is necessary to gather, process and analyze data. Within this course, the basic statistical concepts will be introduced and data analysis typical for various fields based on real world data examples. The R software will be used as the data analysis platform, which is one of the most popular tools for statistical analysis and data visualization nowadays, both for research and commercial use in various fields (biology, medicine, social science, text analysis, finance etc.). In this course it will be shown how to import, visualize and analyze data with statistical methods in the R program. The course is one of the modules of the program "Multilevel STEM Acquisition in Primary School grades 1 to 6" Mathematics II, which is based on practical and research-based knowledge, the Interdisciplinary Center for Educational Innovation at the University of Latvia (ICEI UL) developed student interest education program "Brainy laboratory". Upon finishing the course, participant will have expanded the understanding of how in the 4th-6th grade mathematical learning process it is possible for the pupil to use in depth information processing using Venna diagrams and graphs, to acquire algorithmic skills using encryption, to use numerical modelling to describe natural processes, to develop strategies and use in game creation, linking engineering design with mathematical models.
