A non-governmental organization (2005) that provides developmental opportunities for families raising children with severe mental and other functional disabilities, and cares for children living in poverty. The association works to foster a sense of value in these children and lay the foundations for future opportunities so that they can grow into personalities and become recognized as value by family, community and state. In 2012, Velki Scholarship was created for students of the University of Latvia with functional limitations and/or students from large families. Support The association has donated EUR 3813.30 that were originally received from the Swedish organization "Star of Hope International". The donation is intended to cover the tuition fees and daily expenses of Oļegs Zubkovs, a student of the bachelor's programme at the UL Faculty of Business, Management and Economics from 1 July 2012 to 31 July2013. This course is the first level of intermediate Japanese. A title of this course is „Kanji IV”. However, we will practice not only Kanji but also reading and writing to build a strong kanji in this course. We will read letters, essays and so on. We will also practice completing sentences using new grammars, and writing on topics related to the reading

There is anofficial Erasmus+ LA form but some host universities offers their own LA form. If content is the same, student is allowed to fill in the LA offered by the host university but if the contents differs it is strongly suggested to fill in the official LA form or to fill in both forms (if the host university request to fill in their form). The Learning Agreement shall be approved by the respective study programme’s director at the UL by signing the form as the Responsible person in the Sending Institution. The signed form shall be sent to the host university to be approved and signed by the Responsible person in the Receiving Institution. Lecturers regularly participate in exchange programmes, for example, even now four of our lecturers have been in one semester-long training at the University at Buffalo, New York, and this experience is also used to read their study courses. In order to gain international experience, lecturers also read lectures at the foreign universities. Lecturers from other universities, such as the Blekinge Institute of Technology and Stockholm University in Sweden, also read guest lectures to students. Lecturers also have real workexperience in the industry; many combine work in the industry and the work of a lecturer. All lecturers elected to academic positions have a doctor's degree. Year 2019 Mundheim Family Art Gallery Already in 2022, the House of Scriptures will be opened in the Academic Center of the University of Latvia in Torņakalns. Current and future specialists of humanities and social sciences, including the Faculty of Education, Psychology and Art (FEPA) of the University of Latvia (UL) students and lecturers, will create a home in new and modern premises. In order to develop and strengthen the talents of art students, it is planned to establish an Art Gallery of the Mundheim family at the faculty - a kind of art studio. FEPA UL students will have the opportunity to learn and improve their practical skills in painting in a modern, well-equipped learning environment. Young artists and researchers in the social sciences will expand and develop the flight of creativity, skills and thought, starting their professional careers already during their studies at the University of Latvia. The aim of the course is to offer students, future math teachers, to analyze and solve problems of different levels and difficulty. The objectives of the study course are: 1. To analyze and solve creative tasks according to the standard of secondary education in mathematics mainly in Grade 1. 2. To understand the role of tasks in the secondary education standard and programme. 3. To be able to find and create tasks of different levels of difficulty. 4. To be aware of different approaches to explaining tasks to students. The language of instruction is Latvian.
