Courses groups are completed taking into account the specifics of the listeners' work - adjusting the content of lectures and classes to a specific field of activity, paying attention to the JSA used by a particular student. Particular attention is paid to the physical and radiation safety of sources of ionizing radiation, the quality of equipment, workplace and environmental monitoring. During the 1 hour workshop, listeners repeat the basic principles of radiation safety and evaluate individually every choice of test for each response. Courses 'groups are completed taking into account the specifics of the listeners' work, the content of lectures and classes is related to it, paying attention to the IRS used by a particular student. Aim and tasks: to give an understanding of the content of financial analysis and the possibilities to apply digital technologies in the assessment of the financial condition and economic activity of companies, as well as in forecasting key indicators and data visualization (MS Office Excel, Power Pivot, Power Bi). It is planned to acquaint students with various methods and techniques of financial analysis, which is supplemented with the acquisition of practical skills in the calculation, analysis, evaluation and forecasting of various financial indicators using digital technologies. The tasks of the course are to explain the methodology of financial analysis; characterization of digital technologies and information sources used in financial analysis; getting acquainted with the methods and interpretation of financial indicators; analysis of company balance sheet and profit and loss statement with Ms. Office Excel and Excel Power Pivot.

Introduction to History of Diplomacy (1648 -1918)

The course deals with the main problems of diplomacy in Europe since The Thirty Years War till the end of the WWI and with the main problems in historiography, but also includes a short introduction into the history of diplomacy in ancient Greece, Roman Empire and Byzantium. The role of the diplomacy of Venice, Florence and Milan, as well as the quest for hegemony in Europe by Hapsburgs in 15 century receices its due, too. Course deals with the definition of diplomacy as a craft, art and science. Course covers the main problems of the history of diplomacy of France, Prussia, German Empire, Hapsburg's Empire (later - Austria, later - Austria - Hungary), Otoman Empire, Russia, USA. Students study the life of the greatest diplomats: Richelie, Talleyrand, Caslrey, Palmerston, Bismarck, Gorchakov, Grey, as well as the modern tendencies in the historiography.

The aim of the course “French” (for levels from 1 to 4) is to allow the students to acquire a sufficient level of French to communicate in ordinary situations of social and professional life. This set of these courses represents about 200 hours of teaching and corresponds to a half of the „Independent Speaker” level (“Treshold”) established by Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The goal of the course „French 1” is to provide the conversational French language skills for everyday and concrete professional situations, by acquiring reading and writing skills (learning pronunciation rules and the basics of the grammar) and by developing listening and speaking skills (understanding the lecturer and audio records, introducing him/herself and others, asking and answering simple questions). The various teaching methods that are used during the classes ensuring the perfection of the language skills.

The objective – to prepare theoretically and methodologically students for independent research , working with the heritage of another historically developed Latvian writing tradition in the chronological order of its creation. Tasks: 1. To give a general overview of the history of the Latgalian written language in various stages of its development, starting with ancient texts. 2. To view the processes in the context of developments in Latvian writing of the Middle dialect. 3. To practice in reading and analysis of texts of different ages, successively getting acquainted with the most important monuments of Latgalian written sources and graphic solutions in them. 4. To acquire skills in seeing and analysis of the peculiarities of the language of the Latgalian written texts (phonetic, grammatical, lexical), evaluating the qualities in the context of the history of the Baltic languages. In order to improve students' interest in the learning process, engaging and interesting tools are needed, especially in the current situation, when distance learning is becoming more and more relevant. MindCave is developing support tools for the self-learning process. Pupils are offered tests that test their knowledge in previous years' centralized exams - mathematics, English and Latvian. For its part, MindCave offers teachers materials that will be useful in promoting the learning process. "Our priority is education. Our goal is to promote interest in the education sector, as well as to develop logical thinking in a convenient and fun way for people of all ages, ”emphasizes Santa Bartušēvica, a member of the Business Incubator of the University of Latvia (UoL). Laura Kadile is Doctor of Science in Law (Ph.D.) andresearcher at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Latvia. To date, L.Kadile has gained her experience in legal practice while working for an office of sworn advocates in fields of civil, commercial and administrative law, giving lectures and seminars to the students – future lawyers, doctors. L.Kadile takes an active part in international mobility programs, scientific conferences at the national and international level, as well as prepares and publishes scientific papers. Recent publications cover the legal capacity to act and decision making capacity in Latvian patients’ rights law, the role of the expression of will in legal transactions. Her research activities involve the development of a new legal doctrine in Latvia for fuller protection of patients with limited decision-making capacity. are thought to have begun during the gymnasium – in the summer of 1932 he received a passport for international travel. According to letters written by K.Hagen, he continued his education abroad. From May 1936 to August 1937 he studied in Berlin, then from September 1937 to 1938 he attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and obtained a diploma in acting. After graduating from the academy, he established a successful career as an actor and journalist. He worked at the Vienna Burgtheater and the Vienna Chamber Theatre. Since Hagenhad no children himself, he decided to bequeath the funds to Latvian students to promote their study opportunities in Germany. He wrote in his letters that he considered Latvia to be his homeland. On 25 March 1999, KurtHagenin his will bequeathed all the assets he had acquired in his life to the UL in order to support gifted students’ exchange programmes to attend universities in Germany.
