The men's choir "Dziedonis" of the University of Latvia was founded in 1924 and is a classical men's choir that reflects, preserves and develops the unique cultural tradition of the Latvian men's choirs. Traditionally, current and former students and lecturers of the University of Latvia, as well as representatives of various professions, sing in this choir, forming a friendly group of different generations - in total of 45 active singers. Currently, "Dziedonis" is managed and conducted by Uldis Kokars. During the 100 years of existence, "Dziedonis" has participated in both local and foreign competitions and festivals, and solo and fellowship concert programs. In 2018, at the hundredth Nationwide Lavian Sog and Dance festival, the men's choir "Dziedonis" won the main prize of the "Choir Wars" - the Grand Prix, officially becoming the best men's choir in the country. The objectives of the course are 1) to provide knowledge about the acoustic and auditory properties of speech sounds, speech data processing, analysis and visualization methods, 2) to acquaint students with computer programs and tools suitable for acoustic analysis and multilevel speech data annotation, and to promote their use in research and analysis, as well as the creation of speech corpora. The study course reinforces knowledge about the various stages of the process of speech communication , allows to understand the basic principles of speech technology .

The objective of the course is to consummate the skills of using the contemporary Latvian language in both oral and written forms, as well as to deepen the knowledge of students on the language system and its functioning.
The course aims to develop in-depth understanding and practical skills in financial data analysis using various analysis tools and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions. This includes creating and adjusting financial reports and budgets, as well as performing calculations with modern digital tools to support more accurate decision-making and data interpretation. During the course, students will learn financial reports as a decision-making database with AI additions, determining costs and costing using traditional and AI methods, budgeting methods with AI forecasting tools, as well as revenue forecasting and trend analysis with AI algorithms. The course covers long-term investment analysis with AI risk assessment, AML and sanctions monitoring with AI support, data analysis and visualization with formulas, functions, structured tables and Power BI, as well as data processing and scenario building with AI capabilities.
