The aim of the program is to provide master's studies in project management relevant to the development of the national economy, promoting the competitiveness of highly qualified project managers in both the Latvian and European labor markets. Graduates of the program acquire professional competence in all areas of project management during their studies according to international project management standards (PMI, PRINCE 2, IPMA). Students have the opportunity to participate in a cooperation project with the Dortmund University (Germany), which provides the opportunity to obtain a master's degree in project management at the Dortmund University in addition to the diploma of the University of Latvia. The number of places is limited. The opportunity is offered to students from Latvia.
The main aim of the course is to provide students with an introduction to information technology, its significance and interaction with different fields of legal science. The course will cover various issues related to information technology and law.
The objectives of the course are as follows. The course starts with introduction of the basic concepts and terminology of information technology, e.g., data and data bases, information and information systems. Further, the course will give an overview of digital policy and legal framework in the EU and Latvia. Next, internet regulation and governance, international collaboration, different approaches taken by governments around the world to deal with regulation of the online world, will be introduced and discussed. The course covers different aspects of information security, cryptography and its practical application (digital signature, blockchain technology, etc.). The course is devoted to the deeper acquisition of criminal justice related bussinese issues.
Its task is to:
1) develop students' understanding of the importance of criminal law in doing bussines;
2) to provide a knowledge base for the separation of criminal and non-criminal activities;
3) to provide a comprehensive picture of the financial consequences of a criminal offense; and
4) to gain an in-depth understanding of criminal procedural safeguards.

Wider project objective is to enhance cooperation capacities of Higher educational institutions of Partner Countries in the field of Doctoral Studies within European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and European Research Area (ERA). The MODEST project aims to improve the quality of postgraduate studies in engineering by modernizing the curriculum, optimizing the work of postgraduate students, enhancing the supervision of their scientific research and increasing academic mobility.
