supported scholarship "Ceļamaize 2010"by awarding a scholarship to Ieva Krekovska, a graduate of Kuldīga Secondary School No. 2, a student of the UL Faculty of Social Sciences. In 2012, she supported scholarship "Ceļamaize"with a donation of EUR 1000 and the restoration of the Fireplace Hall in Kristaps Morbergs’ apartment, contributing EUR710. In 2013, Dzintra Uibo established an Excellence Scholarship for students of the UL Faculty of Medicine. In the 2013/2014 academic year, it was awarded to Anna Saarements from Estonia, as she achieved the highest weighted average grade in the course according to the first year results. In 2013, the patroness extended individual support for the restoration of the organ in the University of Latvia Great Hall. We greatly appreciate the generous support to education and development!

20 different languages can be heard nowadays in our lecture halls. Eight departments of the Faculty of Humanities offer bachelor’s (undergraduate), master’s (postgraduate) and PhD (doctoral) degree programmes. The quality of the studies is guaranteed by the international accreditation of the programmes, a high level of academic staff qualification, the attraction of foreign academic staff, as well as a wide range of opportunities for student and staff international mobility. The Faculty of Humanities is a well-known venue for various Latvian and international research activities and cultural events. The academic staff and students, working together, foster the creative atmosphere at the Faculty. The Student Council that represents the interests of students at the Faculty and at the University, organizes educational, sport and entertainment activities. The work of Student Council of the Faculty of Humanities demonstrates the sincere commitment to the ideals of the University of Latvia
