Anystudent of the University of Latvia and an interested person, regardless of the degree of mastery, can participate in the training. LU volleyball training is divided into parts: - The warming part is focused on ensuring that all muscles are trained to prevent injuries; - In the main part, technical skills are improved through both volleyball exercises and physical exercises with or without additional equipment; - In the final part of the course, students are given the opportunity to use all the exercises in the game, as well as to carry out rehearsal exercises.

If you have previous education or professional experience, it can be turned into a part of a study programme that has already been acquired. Higher Education Law Section 59. 2 , Paragraph 5 states: "(5) A higher education institution or college shall evaluate the study results achieved by a person in previous education or professional experience and, if they comply with the requirements of the relevant study programme, recognise them, as well as award relevant credit points. Learning outcomes achieved through professional experience may be recognised in professional or academic study programmes, and only 30 per cent of the credit points of a professional or academic study programme may be awarded, recognising learning outcomes achieved through professional experience." The Student Union of Latvia (LSA) represents the interests on national and international levels of all students studying in Latvia. LU SP Assembly elects 5 LSA council representatives in order to represent UL students at LSA. In addition, a LU SP board member responsible for external affairs is directly involved with LSA affairs, but it is possible for anyone who is interested to participate. By participating through LU SP it is possible to not only visit LSA events but also task groups, council sittings and congress where it is possible to directly influence the LSA opinion and with that also the enactment of national level questions. The aim of the study course is to apply the acquired knowledge and skills in a real work environment such as optical store or another work place of an optometrist, strengthening the competences included in the professional standard, integrating all competences obtained during the study process for performance of definite tasks in cooperation with a practice supervisor and other persons involved.
The objectives of the study course are the following:
  • to improve skills in a general assessment of the visual function and eye structures health using standard and specific optometric methods and devices, increasing pace and efficiency of work;
  • to improve skills in prescription of an appropriate vision correction (glasses and contact lenses) and giving aftercare recommendations, as well as in adjustment of vision rehabilitation based on the assessment results of the visual function and eye structure health

Documents (education diploma and statement on punishability) must be legalised with an Apostille certificate. RESIDENCE PERMIT Documents for temporary residence permit have to be submitted: Personally in the Embassy of Latvia in Turkey, or It could be provided by University of Latvia. Please contact with admissions coordinator for further matters. Master’s degree and PhD students can apply for visa in Turkey and for temporary residence permit here in Latvia. Note! If you are still studying in last semester and don’t have a diploma, you can apply with provisional results from your school. You will need to submit an obtained diploma afterwards. Note! Applicants, who submit documents for temporary residence permit after August 20 th , have to choose express examination of documents for 10 days.
