On 13 September 2017, Microsoft Latvia in cooperation with the University of Latvia opened the Innovation Centre of the University of Latvia and Microsoft. This is the only Microsoft innovation centre in the Baltics. It calls for gathering and cooperation between representatives of various industries, entrepreneurs, ICT professionals, public sector representatives, researchers, students and pupils to jointly create innovative solutions, promote digital transformation in Latvia and strengthen Riga's position as the centre of the Baltic region and innovation city. The Innovation Centre is accessible to anyone interested in innovation and technology. By developing and promoting various networks, the Innovation Centre has become a local innovation platform and business centre.

The aim of the course is to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the nature of property law and its correlation with other instruments of property law, contract law and civil procedure. The course should provide students with knowledge on newest changes (during the last year) in the legal framework in relation to ownership rights, rights to another person's item (servitutes, real charges, pledge, option to purchase, construction rights); on judgements of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in relation to ownership rights analysing Article 1 of the First Protocol of the European Convention on Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, Judgements of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Latvia evaluating compliance of separate regulatory enactments to Article 105 of the Constitution. The aim of the course is to introduce students with contemporary issues of public diplomacy and strategic communication. The tasks of the course are: to introduce students with theories, history and contemporary practical aspects of public diplomacy an strategic communication since the end of the Second World War; to inform students about what public diplomacy and strategic communication mean for the different actors of international system, issues, methods and international environment in the 21st century; with a help of practical tasks and the use of interactive learning methods during seminars to promote the development of the skills to realize a practical analysis of the state policy. Emphasis will be put on specific case studies and analytical tasks, thus applying the knowledge accumulated during the lectures in practice. The language of instruction is English.
