Latin Culture Heritage Centre (LCHC) was established at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Latvia in 2008. The Centre is a scientific unit of the department of Classical Philology, which looks not only into the heritage of the ancient Roman period, but also into Latin tradition that has developed in the territory of Latvia since the 13th century and further through humanism period. Promoting research and translation work for students, including master’s students and doctoral candidates is an important aspect of the Centre's work. Recognising the role of Latin language in the cultural history of Europe as a whole, the Latin Culture Heritage Centre has a number of objectives and tasks. The aim of the study programme "Business Administration" with a specialization in international business is to prepare students to develop their own business in international environment or to work as a highly qualified specialist in state, private and international institutions. The graduates will have a full range of competences to work in the field of entrepreneurship in the context of laws and regulations. Students will be trained to work both - individually and in groups; they will also develop their presentation skills, analytical skills and critical thinking skills, which are necessary both for the labour market to remain effective and for business organizations to develop in a volatile economic environment. The bachelor's study program in Theology and Religious Studies offers a high-level humanities education related to religious studies nowadays and in a historical context. Religious studies offer its students the opportunity to expand their knowledge about the sacred texts, practices, beliefs, history of world religions and study the phenomenology of religion, sociology of religion, anthropology of religion, etc. In theological studies, students become more familiar with the Christian faith and practice (New and Old Testament texts and their interpretations, history of religious ideas and institutions, Christian practice - worship, spiritual care, church pedagogy).
Cooperation with schools, teachers’ associations of language and literature

The academic staff of the Faculty of Humanities participates in the organization of scientific conferences for school pupils (regional and state levels) in cooperation with associations of teachers of languages and literatures, as well as in the implementation of various courses for teachers in cooperation with the National Centre for Education of the Republic of Latvia, etc. Students have their internships in schools (specifically for students of MSP in English Philology). The cooperation includes the implementation of various projects (for instance, in cooperation with the Alternative School of Jurmala and Classical Gymnasium the researchers from the Department of the Classical Studies implement projects devoted to the research of the Ancient culture), and other forms of cooperation.

Understanding and Acquiring Korean Culture
Course
The aim of the course is to deepen their knowledge on different traditional cultural practices on the Korean peninsula, as well as to introduce students to various ways of teaching traditional Korean culture to different age groups. The objectives of the course: 1. to deepen the students’ understanding of the various elements influencing Korean traditional culture at different periods of time; 2. to deepen the students’ understanding of Korea's ancient traditions, celebrations and their expressions in art, crafts, architecture and clothing; 3. to introduce students to various ways and materials regarding teaching Korean culture to foreign language students and how to incorporate materials on Korean culture in Korean language lesson plans. Languages of instruction: Korean and Latvian/English.

Students have the opportunity to start their carrier during the studies. The study programme includes a compulsory internship in the industry, which already starts in the 2nd year of studying, so all graduates of the bachelor's programme already have actual work experience. Graduates can fully integrate into the international scope of IT specialists. After graduation, they receive promotions and work on complex international projects. After graduation, students can continue their studies at the Master’s level. The aim of the study program is to prepare students for work in pharmaceutical companies and for continuing education in the doctoral study program. To provide students with appropriate theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the sub-fields of pharmaceutical science and related fields of science, as well as to prepare for independent research and successful development and defense of a master's thesis. The graduate of the program will have acquired theoretical and practical knowledge about medicines and substances used in pharmaceutical manufacturing, knowledge in pharmaceutical technology, quality control and correct storage of medicines.
