The aim of the study course is to offer the students of the Master’s programme “Nursing” a possibility to promote their readiness for work with patients, colleagues, students and other education target groups in the field of health care.
In order to improve the Master degree students’ pedagogical competence, several objectives are implemented during the acquisition of the study course:
1) to find out the theoretical bases in the pedagogical work of a nurse;
2) to plan, manage and evaluate the study process in the field of health care;
3) to observe learning process in accordance with student specialization and research interests;
4) to summarize the tasks performed in contact lessons and independently in his/her portfolio of the pedagogical practice.
The languages of instruction are Latvian.

The aim of the course is to provide knowledge and develop an understanding of the development trends of Latvian literature from the end of the 19th century to 1920.
Tasks of the study course:
1. to provide insight and understanding of the stages of literary history;
2. to deepen students' skills in text analysis and interpretation, taking into account the cultural and historical context, as well as to emphasize the mutual cultural contacts, and influences;
3. to deepen students' skills to identify most important literary texts of a definite historical period and to gain an understanding about them;
4. to promote students' individual work, mutual communication and group work, presentation and the skills of the formulation of one's opinion.
The language of instruction is Latvian.
The purpose of the course is to develop the student's knowledge and skills to integrate all dental disciplines into the achievement of complete oral rehabilitation of a particular patient.
Course assignments
1) Create the best possible communication skills of the future dentist with the patient and develop ethical conversation habits.
2) Integrate the patient's full extraoral and intraoral examination as an absolute necessity of daily practice.
3) Strengthen awareness of the priority of preventing the acute situation in dentistry.
4) Integrate information on the condition of the patient's health and its impact on the establishment of a treatment plan, as well as the need to contact the patient's physician
5) strengthen the skills to properly fill the patient's clinical card.
The course is implemented in English.
The aim of the course is to provide knowledge and to develop an understanding of trends of world literature in the 19th century.
Tasks of the study course:
1. to provide insight and understanding of the stages of literary history;
2. to deepen students' skills in text analysis and interpretation, taking into account the cultural and historical context, as well as to emphasize the mutual cultural contacts, influences and interactions of different languages and areas;
3. to deepen students' skills to identify most important literary texts of a definite historical period and to gain an understanding about them;

The purpose of the course is to integrate orthodontic diagnosis and treatment into the wider health of the patient, including orthopedics, neurology, pediatrics, genetics and psychology.
