The aim of the course is to introduce students to preventive work at an educational institution based on the analysis and research of the school psychologist's experience, as well as to develop an understanding of the skills and competences required in preventive work for the purposes of the specialization "Education and School Psychology".
Course tasks:
1) introduce with various types of prevention at the educational institution, focusing on examples of research-based practices and the standards adopted in the world on prevention at school,
2) understand various normative and legal acts, creating a school for prevention of school mobbing and behavioural disorders, the competence of educational institutions, social service, orphan's courts and other institutions in state-of-the-art cooperation,
3) by mastering the diversity of different prevention methods, focus on the prevention of mental health, the acquisition of cooperation principle, the acquisition of various prevention
The goal of the study course is to provide knowledge and practical skills in strategic management of sustainable development of territories as well as in identification, assessment, and conceptual development of ideas for actions (projects) promoting sustainable development of the territory, and in mastering the full life cycle of the project implementation.
The tasks of the study course are to provide students with theoretical knowledge in management of spatial development projects, emphasizing the preconditions for sustainable development of the territory and the role of investments in stimulating sustainable development. Other tasks include development of students' analytical skills in identification and analysis of territorial development potential, prioritization and planning of socio-economically feasible actions (investment and non-investment projects), as well as development of an understanding of strategic management of territories, strategic and conceptual planning

The aim of this study course is to acquire knowledge of ethical theories and issues (with a particular focus on religious and theological aspects), at the same time developing student skills of making critical judgments and forming their own reasoned viewpoints on ethical issues.
The objectives in four parts of the course:
- The first part is methodological and deals with metaethical issues, and its objectives include defining the subject matter, basic concepts and principles of ethics, describing the main approaches of ethics, classifying ethical theories, identifying the main issues of contention, etc.

The scholarship foundation has been established to promote the development of medical education in Latvia by an Australian Latvian, the University of Latvia (UL) Honorary Doctor, Prof. Dr. med. Jānis Priedkalns in 2010. The scholarship is intended for those University of Latvia (UL) students in master's and doctoral programmes of medicine and residencywho are involved in neurological research, primarily in the field of neuroendocrinology. The goal of the geography doctoral study program is to prepare highly qualified scientific specialists and teaching staff in geography, as well as highly skilled industry professionals with internationally comparable competence in the field of geography and an internationally comparable doctoral degree in sciences, providing the economy with qualified employees. "With administrative justice, a legal state achieves its true formation." With this quote from Professor Kārlis Dišlers, the European Law Students' Association in Latvia (ELSA Latvia) announced the first national-level administrative court trial simulation, organized in honor of the anniversary of the Administrative Procedure Law's entry into force in 2005. The initial concept developed so successfully that the organizers received applications from more than 30 student teams. After nearly a 10-year hiatus, the Administrative Law court trial simulation was held again in 2014. The goal of the simulation is to offer students the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of a real court trial, both by preparing procedural document samples and defending their position in oral simulations, which are as close to an actual court process as possible. During the oral simulation part, participants are heard and take on the roles of judges, played by recognized legal experts in Latvia
