The study course integrates findings of general, developmental, social, personality and educational psychology and research, which are necessary for successful planning and implementation of pedagogical process in pre-school institutions and schools. The aim of study course is to provide structured knowledge in psychology in order to develop and improve students’ comprehension about consequences of the function of different cognitive processes; about physical, cognitive and socio – emotional developmental characteristics and their influential factors in early childhood, pre-school, elementary school age, adolescence and young adulthood; about different aspects of learning, social processes in groups and also as for the evaluation and resolution of conflicts in the preschool and primary school environment. Legal Ethics

The aim of the course is to learn Latvian and international regulations for professional activity of a lawyer, as well as to familiarise with the most significant aspects of a lawyer’s practice. In addition to professional principles significant to the legal system in general, the students will familiarise themselves with the practical issues as well, for example, determining the lawyer’s royalty and regulation of professional advertisement. Visiting lecturers who are practising representatives of the legal professions (judges, advocates, notaries) will participate in classes of the course. Regulations for professional activities of the lawyers of the other Baltic States and the European Union will be evaluated in the course.

The following general issues of law of obligations being of civil legal relationships during the general part of law of obligations course are learned: the origin of obligations and types, participants of transactions and delict participants, expression of will, the contents and form of obligations, the binding force of contract, penalty, earnest money, cession, interest, fulfillment, limitation period, violations and general issues of liability, termination of obligations rights, as well as issues for establishing of delicts and fault, the concept of damages, their division and requirements for collection of damages. Intellectual property rights

The aim of the course is to provide students with an understanding of intellectual property law and its regulation in modern world. The course introduces with a general description of intellectual property law and examines various objects of intellectual property law from the point of view of various forms of creative expression (mainly - designations of goods and services, appearance of goods, inventions), and characterises infringements of intellectual property rights and their prevention. Objects of intellectual property law is characterised from the point of view of their regulation at international, regional, and national levels, with an emphasis on the EU and Latvian national regulation. The course is taught either in Latvian or English depending on a student group.

LU SC provides lessons for more than 11 different sports. Among the most popular are fitness classes, which are attended by several hundred students every week. Classes take place in the very center of Riga, at the aerobics hall of the Faculty of Business, Management and Economics (Aspazijas boulevard 5), and the range offered is quite wide - 14 different types of fitness classes, divided into 3 different intensities. The students also appreciate the high quality of these classes, because in total there are 8 professional trainers working in the UL fitness department, who work in various popular fitness clubs in addition to their work at the University of Latvia. So the conclusion is one - a unique offer that must definitely be used!
