Course
The aim of the course is to acquire in-depth knowledge in the one of the sub-fields of international law by participating in moot court of international judicial body. The course entails preparation of selected student teams for moot court competitions – oral presentations, trainings to argue the position of the applicant and respondent, to identify possible questions by judges and prepare answers to them.

University of Latvia offers two student hotels for International students: “Prima” and ”Reznas” student hotel. There is a well-developed public transportation and it takes about 20 minutes to reach the city centre, main building of the University of Latvia as well as the Old Town. The minimum length of stay for long term is two months and the Tenant is obligated to pay the rent for first 2 months in order to book the room. All over the rooms are combined by 2 with shared WC and shower. Summer School of Latvian Language and Culture 2017 for students with no, little (A1+) orgood (B1) prior knowledge of Latvian language was held July 24 – 6 August 2017. The University of Latvia in collaboration with the Latvian Language Agency organized for the third year "Summer School of Latvian Language and Culture" for students and otherinterested partieswho want not only to learn and improve their Latvian, but also to broaden their knowledge of Latvian history, art and folklore. The aim of the course is to train master’s students to use scientific research methods of law sociology in order to acquire skills necessary for work with draft laws and effective law provisions by analysing the social influence and effectiveness thereof. The objective of the course is to provide acquisition of advanced knowledge in the science of law and acquisition of practical skills in order to perform sociological analysis of the society and the role of law in research and regulation of public processes. To provide knowledge on effectiveness of law and its importance in a constitutional, democratic state; thus preparing the master’s students for the work of the lawyer linked with creation of law and analysis of existing law prior to creation of law. During the course, the students study two most significant branches of sociology of law: genetic and operative sociology of law.

Qualification Examination in Optometry

Qualification examination in Optometry is the final stage of the Professional Master's study program. The aim of this examination is to evaluate students' theoretical and practical knowledge and their correspondence to the requirements of qualification in Optometry.
The qualification examination in Optometry consists of two parts:
  1. Theoretical knowledge examination consisting of 200 MCQ questions;
  2. Practical exam, where the student demonstrates ability to assess the visual function and evaluate the health of the eye structures in one patient; student should offer the most appropriate solution for the patient.
The objectives of the qualification examination in Optometry is to systematize the theoretical knowledge and to consolidate the practical knowledge and skills relevant to the professional duties of the optometrist as defined in the standard of the profession of optometrist.

Continuing bachelor program's focus towards research, the main goal of the master's study program in theology is to prepare students who can: to conduct in-depth research in the sub-disciplines of theology and religion, to present the results of their research, to represent theology and science of science in interdisciplinary academic dialogues and research, to promote tolerance and openness to denominational, religious, and cultural diversity through government, church, and other bodies.
