The bachelor's study programme "Computer Science"of the Faculty of Computing and the 1st level professional higher education study programme "Programming and Computer Network Administration"provides for a compulsory production internship outside the University in the spring semester of the second study year. Every year our students go on internships in approximately 60 companies. During the internship, students do not have any classes at the University, however, in parallel with the internship, students must develop a qualification paper. Formally, the internship and the qualification work are not related, but a student who is able to design the internship as qualification work will be very lucky. At the student's choice, the internship may involve either programming or computer network administration. The main topic of the event was "smart university". The event provided an opportunity for students, researchers and graduates to demonstrate their achievements during the year, as well as to generate new innovative ideas. All the proposals of the participants of the Idea Laboratory were recognized as useful for the University of Latvia. The winners of the Idea Laboratory were the two best ideas: "System for renting premises", which would facilitate the reservation of the University premises, and the idea of a digital map of UL premises, which will facilitate orientation in UL premises for guests and students. In the 2015 simulation, the winners were University of Latvia's Faculty of Law students Dārta Freimane and Andra Gulbe. Andra Gulbe was also recognized as the Best Orator. The most authoritative judge of the simulation was Agris Dreimanis. The Latvian Association of Administrative Judges awarded its Sympathy Prize, which was given to LU students Baiba Zvejniece and Miķelis Zumbergs. Information about the students' achievements was published in the "Jurista Vārds" magazine on October 27, 2015.

Bilateral agreements

Students can also apply for study mobility within the bilateral agreements signed with UL partner universities worldwide. UL signed bilateral agreements www.lu.lven/cooperation/international-cooperation/ Study mobility within bilateral agreements are based on mutual terms, usually students do not pay tuition fee at Host University and study there as exchange student. Some agreements have grants, but not all. Before applying students shall contact Mrs. Sintija Maculevica ( Sintija.maculevica@lu.lv , 67034336) in order to clarify the terms of corresponding bilateral agreement. If chosen bilateral agreement includes student mobility and all other terms are acceptable to student, student shall apply to study mobility within bilateral agreement by filling in the form and submit it to the international coordinator of the Faculty of Business, management and economics. The AIM of the course is a combination of knowledge, skills and competence of family law. Course
The course addresses key issues of international public law and EU law. Within the framework of the course the main issues of those areas will be linked to a more in-depth and more complex studies. At the same time, attention will be paid to the topicality of these issues. Thus the course serves both as a deepening of basic knowledge and basic skills of students, while allowing students to review the knowledge and skills acquired in the Bachelor's and Master's programs so far and thus to ascertain their ability to pass a national lawyer's qualification examination.
