GenCon project has been accepted to improve bioreactor control systems

The biotechnology with annual growth rate of 7% is expected to reach turnover 50 BEUR by 2030. The fast growth of the field increases also it’s share in the environmental and other sustainability impacts that frequently are not appropriatelly assessed during the design of bioprocess. The GenCon project (full name: Genome scale metabolic modelling linked bioreactor control system) proposes to take into account economic, environmental and societal sustainability aspects of biotechnological production during the design of biotechnological process. We are happy to continue our collaboration with the team of Juris Vanags at JSC Biotehniskais centrs and extend our experience into the bioreactor control system design.

It is planned to start the project 1-st June 2021, but we already have a logo made by our colleague Santa Prikule.
