Research units

Institute is composed of 4 research units:

  1. Laboratory of Magnetic Hydromechanics, head Linards Goldsteins, Dr. phys.
  2. Laboratory of Heat and Mass Transfer, head Elmars Blums, Dr. hab. phys.
  3. Laboratory of MHD Technology, head Andris Bojarevics, Dr. phys.
  4. Laboratory of Theoretical physics, head Agris Gailitis, Dr. phys.
The institute is managed by scientific council that consists of 13 scientists. Council's chairman -  Dr. phys. Agris Gailitis. Members, director and the chairman of the council are elected every 5 years. Current director of Institute of Physics - Dr. Phys. Leonids Buligins. Other structural units: administration, accountancy, journal "Magnetohydrodynamics" editorial board.
