Participation at the development of Latvia’s first satellite imagery map

In 1994-1996 the Institute participated at the development of Latvia’s first satellite imagery map (scale  1:50000) under a joint project by Sweden (represented  by SSC Satellitbild) and Latvia (State Land Survey).

The Institute:

• Provided extensive technical support for the development of map database at the State Land Survey;
• Prepared the mapsheets for ~10% of the country;
• Digitized the terrain data for 100% of the country.
