5th International BIP Staff Training Week  "Resilience in Academia: Sustainable Development, Green Initiatives, and Cybersecurity for the Future"

We are pleased to invite both administrative and academic personnel from partner and potential new partner universities to the 5th International BIP Staff Training Week  "Resilience in Academia: Sustainable Development, Green Initiatives, and Cybersecurity for the Future" at the University of Latvia! 

Event

The 5th International BIP Staff Training Week at the University of Latvia, titled "Resilience in Academia: Sustainable Development, Green Initiatives, and Cybersecurity for the Future," aims to bring together academic and administrative staff from various institutions to explore critical themes shaping the future of higher education.

The event focuses on strengthening resilience in academia by addressing three key pillars:
✅ Sustainable Development – Discussing strategies for integrating sustainability into academic curricula, research, and institutional operations.
✅ Green Initiatives – Showcasing best practices for fostering environmentally friendly policies and actions within universities.
✅ Cybersecurity for the Future – Enhancing awareness and preparedness for digital security challenges in education and research.

Through expert-led workshops, discussions, and networking opportunities, participants will gain insights into innovative approaches to sustainability and digital resilience, fostering international collaboration and knowledge exchange for a more sustainable and secure academic environment.

The BIP  “Resilience in Academia: Sustainable Development, Green Initiatives, and Cybersecurity for the Future " is composed of online part in April 30, 2025 hosted by the University of Latvia. BIP partner univetsities: European Humanities University (Lithuania) and West University of Timisoara (Romania). A 5-day on-site event that will take place in the beautiful city of Riga, the largest of the three Baltic capitals, from the May 12 till May 16, 2025.

Expected Outcomes: 

• Strengthen sustainability within the university: By implementing green thinking strategies and initiatives in both academic and administrative work;
• Promote an inclusive university environment: Ensuring that all university staff and students have access to equal resources and support, regardless of their background, abilities, or digital opportunities;
• Enhance cybersecurity awareness and resilience: Teaching university personnel to understand digital security challenges and improve resistance to cyber threats;
• Build university community resilience: Integrating sustainable, inclusive, and cyber-secure practices to create a more resilient and future-proof academic environment.

We are looking for active participants willing to improve their professional competences, share their experiences, creative ideas and best practices from their home universities. 

We will host up to 20 participants, and no more than 2 participants per university will be accepted. Please, be aware this is a BIP event and your mobility should be registered as a BIP by your university administration. BIP code: 2024-1-LV01-KA131-HED-000212386-1

! You are welcome to bring with you traditional sweets from your country for coffee breaks.
